So could 17x8.25 +25mm work on stock suspension or would it be wiser to go +35, than say a month later lower it on 1.5inch springs? I am just trying to have the wheel and tire flush with the outside of the wheelwells. I know like some one said it would make my car look like a monster truck but that was when I was thinking 17x8.75.. if i did 8.25 dropped it 1.5 inch if I would have to fender roll? I am just trying to get my numbers accurate so I know what I would have to do after I get the things on.

No hate, just looking for a little help I am not well with wheels and tires.

+25 would need rolling your fenders, but all depends on the tire size ur wanting.

235/40 or 225/40 would be good tire size.

35 offset would be flush with your fenders and the 25 offset would poke a bit. How low are you planning to go?
as far as I can without needing new struts RIGHT now.. 1.5inch?

I want enough tire to also fill my wheel well as much as I can and enough that even with only 1.5 drop it will fill as much as it can, I doubt Ill ever go lower..

Go with the 35. Then you won't need to worry about rolling fenders or tire stretch.

So I've been reading a lot throughout this thread, and I don't think I have come across any 02-07 wagons with a 17x8.25 +25, but plenty of +35. I have seen for a fact that the +35 will fit well. The +25 would just require more camber to fit it in the wheel well?
Just curious, as I am trying to figure out my next setup. Looking at some 17x8.25 530's in gold, or I'm going to do something in 17x9.

This will be perfect. 235's will fit the wheel great. You will be happy.

Bought the wheels on CL with these tires but swapping on some 215/40 to get more of the tire tucked up in there. If anyone wants to buy the 235's let me know.

Should have left the 235/45's on. 20mm less treadwidth and 38mm less tire diameter. That is a lot to me but some pictures of the 215/40 tires would show the real difference. Nice wheels. They look good in Chromium Black on the two tone Silver.

OBS: 235s look good. I've got 235s on my setup and it sort of ties everything together.

I just ordered 235/40/17 but I am wondering if I should have ordered 45s.. looking at my current size 215/45/17 the wheel gap is huge.. but on my buds car he has BBS 235/40/17 and they are thick.. so Iam really confused.. I plan on lowering it 1.5 inch in a month or so, but if I get my 17x8.25 on 235/40/17 aren't I going to have even worse of a gap than my 45s now on stock wheels?

For some reason they look out of place. I cant quite describe it. Love the car and I love the wheels, but they look strange together.

Must be the angle. Post more

I want some 531s, 17x9. Hopefully I can order some before I move to Hawaii

You'll be better off with the 235/40s as compared to the 235/45s. It'll look fine.

I ordered new tires in the summer (before I knew anything about fitment), and I order 225/45 on xxr 527s 18x8.75 +35.. I order too tall of a tire, and wanted more of a width. The car is actually loww on Coilovers now and wish I actually order the right size, which was 235/40 or 225/40.. Keep the height 40.. 45 is too tall dude

This is how im set up now, and why I was so curious about the 45s to fit the gaps better

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2499444

I also ran into a tire problem today when ordering my 527s. The one tire I wanted was discontinued so they had 2 others in 235/40/17 both which sucked. Which is why I am haulted in buying tires now trying to find cheaper ones (under 600) which were as good as the ones I wanted. I did find a few good tires under 225/45/17..
