Default Full MRT exhaust kit - is it LOUD?

I'm going to purchase a full MRT exhaust kit. Now I'd like to know if this kit is going to be:
- quiet (or a little louder than stock)
- loud
- or LOUD (shaking windows etc...)

If anyone has a MRT full system, please share your feelings about it...

THX, D.

I used to have a custom straight through muffler put on my stock system, and that thing was louder than I would've expected (even with the glasspack kept on the midpipe). There was the 'roar' when you start her up. The older folks and cops didn't like it, but the enthusiasts and younger crowd loved it.

I just got mine and it's not close to loud. It's not silent like the stock unit, but you can hear it if you open up your windows and rev. I've even forgotten to change gears until I noticed I was at 3500 rpm (the engine was just warming up). Let's just say that people won't hear you coming until you get close enough by about 50 ft.

When I was running my Borla header/stock cats/custom midpipe/Borla can the car was pretty loud, had a real deep rumble at idle, and roared when I was on the gas.

Now that I have the MRT header/MRT cats/MRT midpipe/Borla can the sound is MUCH more mellow at idle but still can be loud...but not as loud as before. Honestly my intake makes more noise at WOT than my exhaust does.

There is a sound clip of it somewhere here in N/A land.

It's quiet, but...

My muffler 'rang' alot, with a very annoying quality.

I fixed it by covering the end caps with 1/4" of
silicone rubber, and covering the center 1/3 of the
rest, too.

Now, I just hear the exhaust, which has a real
nice low-frequency sound to it. It's actually
loudest at small throttle openings, and you wont
hear that if you have the radio cranked up just
a bit.

I was actually considering getting a louder
muffler...

I heard the MRT full system on another car...and honestly didn't like the sound of the can alot (especially compared to the full Borla setup I had!) so I swapped out the MRT can for my Borla...and I likes.

Took some getting used to granted.

I have the full MRT system, and agree with the others, it is loudest (still not that loud) at low to medium RPMs, with medium throttle input, flooring it actually seems to quite it, strange. So far I haven't noticed the "ringing" sound that much, I'm assuming it's the sound if your heading down the road, windows open, it kind of sounds like an exhaust leak, like the air is pinging off the headers or something. I like the sound of mine though.

Is that the Silicone coating spray that sells for around $8 a can? How do you know it'll hold onto the exhaust system? I didn't understand how you applied it and where?
