Default gas tank for ver4 sti swap

i got a leak in my stock '95 L tank. there's no replacement tank outside the dealer($420). supposedly they dip the tank in epoxy, or fiberglass resin to coat and stop the leak. how long does this last? my bro is a GM mech and says all older cars he sees with this are in bad shape after wards still, and leak within a couple years. ive had a car previously that had this done(not by me) and it did leak, but i couldn't say when it was done. might it be easier to find a junk roo and strip it for the tank? also the sti motor going in needs a new pump(which i got: walbro) because of the L's 175k mile journey so far. what is the difference in wires? do i need to add any since my tank will be out anyway? thanks for the help guys! -keith

jaxx- i found a couple tanks on car-part.com. there's a 93 tank for $75, but i'm unsure it's cond. and don't want to be doing this again next year. i did find a '98 tank w/pump for slightly more, and was wondering if it fits ok? my 98 OBS seems to have more volume(15.9 gal) wher as the L seems to be smaller(13.9gal). does this csuae interference with space alotted? i'd like a bigger tank anyway if that's an option. as long as both are from awd's it should be the same right? THANKS! -keith
