If anyone here could do me a favor, it would be much appreciated. I'm trying to figure out what cars the 2012+ Impreza's share their suspension with mainly, and nobody seems to know, there is just a lot of conflicting information out there.

If anyone could take their stock OEM 2.5i springs and get pictures of them next to a ruler, and measurements of length and coil diameter, it would be very much appreciated, I've looked all over and can't find anything. Thanks!

Mainly I'm trying to figure out the coil thickness and length of the standard 2.5i Impreza to see if it's the same as the 2012+ Impreza, since nobody seems to know the springrate for that car. It seems the 09 WRX has the same length springs and of the same coil diameter, but I don't know if the rate is the same or not.

Big oil leak from behind the timing belt cover, I hope it is main cam seal and not the head gasket. Got laid off last week and this is not a good time for that :\

How many miles are you at? It's most likely head gasket. I did mine at 65k miles... These NA motors are notorious for head gasket failure. If it is, be sure to get it sanded and use a turbo gasket. Lots of information online about this.

I am at 64k miles. Do you have any suggestions on which gasket to get? I looked around and I see some say that the replacement OEM part has been redesigned.

Still wouldn't trust the NA gasket. Both the dealership and local Subaru performance shop said go with a turbo gasket.

The generation(s) notorious for HG failure were those prior to the 08+. Not to say it can't happen, but to say our NA's are prone to it would no longer apply.

Well, I took my car to the dealership and looks like it's not the HGs. The oil pump is leaking oil. They quoted $950 to replace that and to replace the timing belt and water pump along with it.

I paid $800 flat for head gasket (both sides), water pump and timing belt from a Subaru only performance shops. It pays to have friends in the business!

Took the car to my favorite mechanic. Turns out it was the main cam seal that was the problem. They replaced it along with the timing belt and the pump and I also had them replace the spark plugs and flush the brake fluid along with balancing the wheels for $700.

The car drives fine now although I will keep an eye out for any persisting problems with oil leaks.

Just get a pro tune. I had the AP for our cars with the Rallitek tunes. Also the AP is for 05-08 years.

Now to just get some wheels to fill out those fenders. RPF1's became track wheels recently due to a flat. I got a deal and a half on slicks and I couldn't say no (225/45/r17 Continental Extremecontact dr's)

Witch year of sti struts did you put on?

ilwaukee, what are your wheel specs? Found a 18x9, 20et with 215 width tires but worried it will be quite aggressive. Thoughts compared to your setup?
