I just bought one of these for work, I think its a t-70 but I'll let you know tomorrow for sure. This'll keep the lube shop from draining the trans on accident!
that is wierd, my 04 has a 21mm like all the previous. I thought only 05's were getting the new plugs. |

thanks for your help everyone.
I found T70 at the Matco-tool truck for $19.71 plus tax. unfortunately, matco doesn't sell it online. if anybody needs the tool, you can call 1-866-BUY-TOOL to find the truck in your locale or buy via phone. |

Just to drop .02 . They changed the pluge so goofballs at Jiffy Lube and other fast lube shops will stop dropping the tranny fluid on the manual cars by mistake when you got an oil change .

I've got a question, not for me (i've an '03), but for others...
When retightening the bolt, do you retighten to ~33ft/lbs of torque like on the previous year models? [don't forget to get a new "crush" washer when changing your transmission fluid. it really doesn't crush like the washer for the motor oil drain plug, but there's a washer there. at least on my car there's one. (costs me $2.50 from the dealer too...) ] |

the torque on the 04 5MT tranny drain plug is ~51 ft-lb.
