Stock 2010 LGT 6MT Dyno Graphs
I thought some people might be curious about the new front mount turbo setup on the 2010 LGT.
The first pull was rather impressive. The rest were not and we couldn't figure out why. Stability control was off for all pulls. We gave it time to cool off nicely between pulls. I'm sure whatever made the stock ECU reduce the boost on the later pulls can be fixed via custom tuning once this new ECU code is mapped. Event: dyno pulls Location: Innovative Tuning. So the 2010 LGT makes more torque than the STI nearly everywhere in the rev range?

That 08 STI looks very unhappy. Have you dyno'd any other stock 08 STI's?

Im guessing the turbo is also bigger than previous years, simply by the fact it is making as much/more power than a 07-09 lgt with ~5psi less boost. Pretty significant.... |

anyway, isn't the turbo a vf 52, same as the new wrx's? the fhp figures are the same between the cars but the leggy has a bit more ftq. any lag? |

I think it is a VF56, actually. The thing I find interesting is it makes the 225ish that, for example, my 09 legacy did, but its doing it with 4-5less pounds of boost. I dont know if the wheels inside the turbo are the same as a vf52, but again, I dont see the manifold making up the difference in power of 5psi. The boost response seems to be slightly quicker than with the previous model too. The new manifold does a great job of making power efficiently. here is a graph of a 08 legacy vs a 10 on the same dyno, both dynod in 4th gear on a 6spd box. |

^ no worries. could have worded my statement better.
both are 6spd's but they're different boxes though. one is an sti tranny the other is the usual 5spd + 1 more gear (with different ratios, of course). are the ratios of 4th the same between the two trannies? if so, that on top of the absent up pipe might make the 5psi diff, no? |

Not sure what the difference is of the gearing, but it wont make that big of a difference either way, I dont think. I didnt realize the 2010's are sti trannies.
I think the fact that its a short runner/el manifold is what makes the difference, so yeah part of that is the sans up pipe design.... |

actually, i meant the 08 spec b 6mt has the sti tranny. 2010 lgt 6mt's are the 5spd variant. lol, my communication skills are all out of wack today. sorry.
yeah, the ratios probably shouldn't matter. |

I really don't think they are....I always thought they were until I was corrected by a friend who worked both at a large subaru dealer in the tech dept and also at one of the more reputable speed shops....not sayin I couldn't be wrong.....doesn't really matter either way for the topic though.

No more than any other 07-09 STI on the stock tune. Those are normal numbers for stock STIs and Evos on this dyno. Keep in mild filtering is on 25 on that graph so it doesn't smooth over the issues in the stock tune. |

The new 2010 legacy 6-spds are a variant of the 5-spd trans, as subaru has publicly released. I just wonder how similar the two really are...? Also wondering what the weight is? do we now have a 'lightweight' 6-spd option or will it be a glassbox like the 5-spds? |

Both Innovative Tuning (NY) and EFI Logics (CT) get 219 whp, but they have huge torque differences. What gives? 205 wtq vs 245 wtq.
