2012 WRX Premium 5-Door Sway Bar Kit
I'm looking for a front and rear pair of anti-roll sway bars. I'm interested in the Eibach 24mm and 22mm combo. I called Eibach today to make sure this would work okay on a 2012 model car. Their site says it's for 2011, but clearly is not listed for the 2012.
Apparently they have not tested it on the 2012, but other sites sell it and say they're ok. Does anyone know for sure? Amazon has the pair for under $300. A good deal. I'd also consider Whiteline, but they're more money and I'm 42 years old and just want a more level ride. I'm not a racer. Check these out... http://www.amazon.com/Eibach-7717-320-Anti-Roll-Kit-Front-Performance/dp/B002C3S6P4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366347432&sr=8-1&keywords=Eibach+7717.320 Also, for the record, the Eibach model is 7717.320. I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm this for me. If so, I'm going to buy it and install on Saturday. Oh, one more question... can I install these bars with the car jacked up? Or must the weight be on the wheels? Thanks! Marc

You should be fine installing the Eibach sway bars. 2011-2012 are the same just some minor appearance changes (chrome headlights etc) Suspension component are the same that is why most places have 2008+ or 2011-2013 for parts.
For installation you will want to keep the car on the ground/ramps. You want the weight be on the wheels. |

I think the correct kit for 2011-2013 WRX should be the Eibach 7718.320. The 7717.320 is for 2008-2010 WRX only, when I search around online. The suspension setup changed in the 2011 model year to match the STI widebody flares.
Both kits are also listed on Eibach's website as being 25mm front/22mm rear. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. |

You will love the difference with the eibachs. I wa surprised at how much difference they made reducing body roll , I would get kart boy end links too

Good info, if I wasn't under warranty I would consider these. I dislike the slight body roll the car has too.

Here is a link to a great write up done by Cygnus Performance regarding sway bar set ups and such. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2462278 I wouldn't call the WRX's body roll slight .. it is by far one of the biggest weaknesses of the car in terms of driving feel. Sways are a very safe upgrade if you also upgrade the endlinks .. since those are the only thing that would likely break from adding larger swaybars. If you added them, only your suspension components warranty would be effected. Subaru won't deny powertrain stuff just because you have aftermarket sway bars ... no one ever blew a motor or tranny due to sway bars. Last edited by GrumpyPitbull; 04-20-2013 at 03:51 AM. |

Do a safe change and just upgrade to the STi rear swaybar and bushings, the dealer will install them without voiding the warranty. Made a world of difference to me, now the front and rear end act together, and its a safe cheap option.

This is one of the first mods I'd like to do but I figured if I'm going to spend the money I might as well get something better than STI stock parts. However, if the price is right, the price is right. |

I only found the rear for 09-12 (I assume it will fit the 13 though). http://www.subarugenuineparts.com/pr...oducts_id=1690 $96. So probably about $200 for front and rear. Maybe $125 used? |

100% serious. I've owned heavily modified cars and I'm done with that. Just looking for a fun daily driving experience with the backing of a factory warranty.

It looks like the STI rear sway bar comes with the bushings. Brackets = end links? If not, is it recommended I get new end links like it is when you buy aftermarket sway bars? |

No need for new endlinks, what I meant was the bushing brackets are the same.

For those of you using the Eibach sways, how do they compare to a solid bar? I'm looking to do 22f&r, but have concerns the Eibachs will be softer than I want. I do like the idea of less unsprung weight offered by the hollow bar.
