Default The official call-out of bad drivers thread

Use this thread to post all observed instances of bad/dangerous/illegal drivers out there. The more info, the better.

My example:
Driving to Vancouver from Port Moody via #1 and Grandview/12th Ave. Dark blue Acura RL, license plate 554 GLR.

Guy was driving below the speed limit (and erratically), but he'd light up the tires at every light. Then he ran a red at Arbutus and 12th. Then he sort-of pulled over, but obstructed a side street and a lane of traffic in doing so.

I can put this thread to good use -- I've encountered one too many horrible/reckless drivers on the road as of late.

mini cooper 681 mdk. Tried to run me and my dog over, so i was forced to kick it.

Funny thing is walking to work a month later, saw the same car, guy driving like a jerk as usual, not stopping at stop signs, being super aggressive.

Since we are keeping tabs on license plates too, the only thing I can see coming from this thread is a bunch of VIC'ers getting together for a group "tire slashing"

Is there a website/phone number where you can report dangerous drivers after the fact? Besides Watch99, which I'm not sure applies anywhere besides Highway 99.

. . . or I suppose you could always call someone in as being a suspected drunk driver

Honestly cops don't do much if you report a car that's driving erratically unless they catch the person. As far as I know, even if you give them the license plate they won't do anything unless it's multiple complaints.

Umm not true. I followed a drunk driver, called the cops with his location and I kept following. They guy didn't pull over for about 30 minutes and was driving on the side walks, hitting guard rails etc.... by the time the cops got him stopped there were about 10 cop cars following him with their lights on and sirens. It was pretty entertaining, but the guy was wasted and could have easily killed some one .

We were called to testify, but the guy ended up cutting a deal or something. The cops were super stoked that we called them and didn't let the deuschbag get away.

^^^ That's a little different but you can imagine how many phone calls cops get everyday saying dude with license plate 000AAA is driving like an idiot on No 3rd and Westminster Hwy.

It's not feasible to look into every one of those incidents.

True. I'm not saying the cops are gunna do anything if you spot an idiot driver, but if some one is **** faced like this guy was, I think you have a responsibility to call the cops or stop the guy yourself.

I agree Kingbrew.

I called in a dump truck once on the highway just east of the Port Mann.
I followed him over the bridge, and onto Lougheed, and before we hit the lights at the Mary Hill, there was a cop on his ass pulling him over. I never heard what happened to the guy, but on our way back almost 45 minutes later, the truck was being towed and the guy was nowhere to be found. He was driving like he was drunk, so I assume that's why he was being towed.

Sorry to bring up this old school thread, but I just had to vent the stupidity of drivers today. Well, to be direct, A certain driver.

So it's around 5pm, and I'm cruising down Cambie Road Richmond, right after Garden City heading towards Parker Place (I know I know, I should be staying away from the asian malls, due to horrible parking experiences).

But anyways, there's a Ford Taurus, looked to be a wagon of some sort driven by a female lady in her mid 40-50's, and she's on the outside lane to my right. She had parked there for a couple seconds with her blinker signalling right.

As I'm more of a defensive driver, I notice this, and slow down incase she steps out of her vehicle or whatever, but back to the story. I'm approaching her vehicle at about 50-55 clicks, and out of a bloody sudden, she disregards her surroundings, disregards her should checks, and makes a god damn U-Turn right in front me.

In my mind, i thought oh ****, time to embrace the impact as I slammed on the brakes. . .

but surprisingly and shockingly my car stops about 4-5 inches from t-boning her sorry ass. And there I am, halted, with my hand on the horn and some fowel language expressed through verbal gestures.

She then CONTINUES to complete the U-Turn disregarding any other cars in the other lanes, and I'm like . . . . REALLY? Did that just happen?

But thank god I didn't get into an accident. Too much hassle. . . . but then again I need a new bumper anyways

When I had my Sti I got pulled over for warnings a LOT due to people calling the HWY99 hotline. Maybe it depends on the location, but they definitely DO follow through if the manpower/resources/seriousness allow. The thing is, they can't really do anything about it.
