I HATE the seat belt chime in my car. When I am sitting in it letting it warm up and I don't have my seat belt on: BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. Even if the e-brake is up. I don't want to bypass it just incase it is linked with the SRS system, but it is annoying as hell.

I've worked in my dad's shop so long, I don't even notice them anymore. Though my 2.5RS has had the Seatbelts buzzers disabled, since the guy before me had the seatbelts taken out.

HERES SOME HELP

1) Turn key to on position-don't start.
2) After first set of chimes click seat belt in and out 20 times within 30 seconds.
3) Turn off key.
4) Repeat 1, 2, 3 again
5) Turn key off and re-start

I disabled the chime in my 2.5i. It got on my nerves so bad...same with my mom's new legacy.

I despise them. I've disabled the seat chime in my WRX, but can't find any way to do so with the wife's '07 CR-V. Even worse, the CR-V chimes at you when the stability control system kicks in. That's real handy at a time like that - NOT!!!

My Sister had a Toyota that didn't have a warning chime when you left the lights on. I borrowed her car and came out only to find I left the lights on and the battery was dead. The warning chime in my mustang saved me atleast a dozen times. Of course my Legacy turns the lights on and off automatically so it isn't an issue anymore, but I did miss it when I didn't have it.

Also in Japan when you go over 110km an hour the cars have this odd tinkling chime that starts up and only goes off when you drive slower than 110km an hour. That is nuts.

Reminds me of my brother-inlaw driving my nephew around at 4am. You best try the 30 clicks of the seatbelt to disable the beeper.

I don't like the rev limit chime. I have my light set at 6,400 rpm. Best for acceleration, but I race in the twisties. I don't want the chime going off when I'm just short of a corner braking point. Too distracting going into a hair pin at 90 mph. In 4th the rev limit is 97.6 mph and at 6,400 rpm the light goes on at 86.7 mph.

As for the seat belt chime. I went aftermarket for the belts and the stock belt has been latched behind the drivers seat since June of 2003. (This is not a seat belt thread. Don't go there.) Chime problem solved.
