Best of both worlds, AutoX AND RallyX...Tein FLex or STI reds/Prodrive springs?
Well?
I dont so much care about the ride quality differences, as I have been rinding around on JIC's with 450lb+ springs, so either is going to be better. I had concentrated my setup on autoX, but today I had a taste of rallyX, and I am hooked. I drove another guys car, that had the same sway bars as mine, but he ran stock struts/whiteline springs, and his car pivoted MUCH easier than mine. The coilovers are simply too stiff for rallyX. SO I want to do a setup that will be better for rallyX, but still be competant on the street. Obviously the flex's with the 5k springs will do better on pavement than STI takesoffs with prodrive springs, but can they handle the occasional rallycross? The springs at 5k are not THAT much harder than the prodrives, (prodrives are about 220/195, the flex's are 280/280) Well what do you think? I already have the flex's, but I can get STI takeoffs very easily so... Which way to go? OR third option. Run the Tein FLex's with 7k springs and NO swaybars (as opposed to 5k/22mm bars)

Those Prodrive rates are for the P1 springs, not the regular Prodrives avaliable through normal US distributors. Prodrive doesn't release those rates unfortunately.
Regular Prodrive springs, like I have, will likely be too soft and have much of a drop to be an effective rally-x spring. Good on pavement though. If it were me, I'd do STi RA takeoffs (217/195) and that would be that. Cheers, -Mirror |

You could run the Tein Flex with softer springs - say 224/224.
Or, get rally struts - DMS 50mm or Tein HG. |

WIll the flex's hold up to the occasional rallyX? Like maybe 3-5 a year, avoiding venues known for rutting?
