Default Tuners in Germany

So after doing countless hours of recon I finally found some tuning shops that I will definately check out when I get back from deployment. The shops are AK Motorsport and Trautner Automobil. Both are authorized COBB tuners and dealers so I am pretty confident they know their butt from a hole in the ground. I know that the Trautner Automobil is super close to Vilseck/Grafenwoehr (about 30 min.) The other place seems a little farther north. If you need the addresses or phone numbers just go to the cobb tuning dealer site and then look under Germany. I will post my reviews once I go to the shops and get some work done. Just make sure you guys have someone who can clearly convey what you want done to your car because there is that whole language barrier thing (lucky for me I am trilingual). Like I said I will recon the tuning shops and give you guys a heads up on prices, tunes and installs. Keep on rocking the autobahn. FYI I am new to posting on the forums but am definately looking into a meet when I get back.

hurry up and get back the weather is changing for the better here, stay safe dude.

Well If you a see a black 02' WRX with a wing on it that's probably my old man driving my car around. If you swing by the back of Sorghof its probably still parked in front of the house. When will be down there for block leave to put all the stuff I ordered on to my car and get it pro tuned at Trautner. Do you know if the guys at Trautner are pretty cool about unlocking the maps once they load them on to the AP. Well time to go back out, take it easy

Not sure how much Trautner is but I normally have Stephen from IA Performance (www.iaperformance.com) come out to Germany to tune my car. He normally charges about $250 a tune I think. It's been a while since I looked at one of his invoices though. He'll be in Germany again at the end of March.

Yeah I seen it parked out there. As you enter sorgof its to the left of the fork. When is your leave, like euroscooby said about stephen coming out be a lot easier and cheaper def. I will talk to christian in about 3-4 weeks, heading over for install of streetlite and hd clutch. will ask them about tuning and maps.

stay safe

Yeah I just took my R&R in January so I won't be back until this Summer (wrapping up a 15 month holiday). I mean the Euro is pretty low and I won't be around during that time so BRRanger, if you could just check on some prices for me that would clutch. Thanks again everybody for given me the info on tuners.

Not sure if you knew but Stephen will also do install work and he does a pretty damn good job (and cheap) with what he has. Meaning that he isn't working in his shop and he comes to Germany and works on cars in an unfamiliar "auto center". GP Tuning in Luxemburg quoted me $9500 to install and tune my GT30 turbo kit w/ supporting mods. Stephen did it for less than $2k including airfare to Germany. For a clutch job, you can expect your car in and out in about 3-4 hours for about $400 but don't quote me on any prices.

Its too bad I won't be there when he comes. That would be the tits to have my car tuned. I guess its the cost of Hazard Duty Pay and tax free 15 months. If the dates do change please let me know.

yeah I have gone to trauntner already and paid 281 euro, for a install which right now will be about 360. Plus its only 45 mins away. Not sure if stephen plans to make it this far east in germany. I would kill to do it myself, just no other dudes close that can help, plus I never done an awd suby, just mustangs and 2wd chevys.

I don't mean to Hijack or go off topic here but since I have all you guys here I was wondering if you guys knew the sellers that offered military discounts and cheaper APO shipping, I think most of us have earned that much, doing what we do. I am also wondering if you guys had any ideas for a good way to some wheels. I am looking for some of OEM STI BBS but don't want some guy to tell me that its $300 for shipping. Thanks guys

Do you guys know of anyway to get a cluster reflashed in Europe. I know it voids the warranty but its a 02' so I really don't care. I just picked up an EDM Prodrive STI Cluster and what to put the correct milage on it. Also, Have any of you guys tried using ebay in Britain or forums in Britain? I was trying to see what shipping would be like from GB to Germany.
