Nope, I put them on too early last year and then it got way too warm. Looking ahead it looks like 47 on Sunday and 49 on Monday, so I'm going to hold off for another couple weeks. That and I need to finish my paint job on my winter wheels

when night time temps hit below 40 and I hear of a storm approaching I do it. I did it this year the night before we got the snow.

Wow, almost 60% voted on snows....I'm assuming it is because you run UHP summer tires?

Yeah, hankook RS-3's aren't exactly appropriate tires at under 50*

I run them on my stock BBS. I've had the same set for 4-5 winters now, and they still have plenty of tread left. They're great tires - I can plow through 8" of snow without issue, the car is practically like a snowmobile.

I picked up a set of these before last winter but didn't even bother getting them mounted. They're on my stock BBS wheels as well. Putting em on next Friday most likely.

Forecast is calling for 40's and 50's Sunday through the end of next week. I'm glad I kept the all seasons on. Where's the snow!?!?!

Why I'm still on summers. Im not switching till its consistently below 40 or an actual snow fall is predicted. My summers are pretty worn out and are getting replaced in the spring, so, might as well wear these tires out while i can instead of putting miles on my snows driving in 50° weather.

My thoughts exactly. My proxes 4's are pretty much gone and I'll be replacing them in the spring with new summers. Figure I'll run em until it's actually worth it to mount my winters.

Switched over to the snows last Sunday on both the wrx and the wife's Impreza. Peace of mind and not doing on a day where it's 0° out or rush before a real snowfall. I usually go from Thanksgiving weekend to around tax day.

Its different when youre on Proxes4s, which arent exactly "summer tires"

Some of us run Hankook RS3s, Dunlop Star Specs, Nitto NT01s so we had no choice but to switch.

Good point. I'll have to take that into consideration when I'm picking up new warm weather rubber come spring time.

switched over to my old winters a few days ago (from the stock 09 tires). I have new x-ice xi3's waiting to be mounted, but I'm going to run my trashed wintersport 3d's until the temps drop low enough to justify putting on brand new xi3's.

I may have to give in and switch this weekend. Noticed one of my summers keeps losing air. I really dont wanna find the hole and plug a tire that's only got another week or 2 before they get taken off for good.

Also just mounted new xice xi3s. Put them on two weeks ago and looking forward to seeing how they handle messy roads.

Put 'em on last night and did pads/rotors at the same time. Woke up to a little bit of snow this am, so good timing.

I put on my "it's almost damp" tires last week and did I need them. We got down to 67 and drizzle Sorry guys.

I did live in MN, for a school year, and thought winter was the most fun on the road I had ever had

Cleaned and mounted yesterday.

Had to pull and fix a puncture in the stockers.
