Default HR:Casey Subaru

I recently had the worst experience with the sales team at casey, man are those guys desperate and pushy. i have never had a problem with the service dept. But this last episode with the sales people left me wanting to find another subaru dealership. i have two questions.
1. can anyone recommend another dealership in the Hampton Roads area for scheduled maintenance and what not.
2. has anyone else had a bad experience with casey or am i just being knit picky?

I bought my 04 sti from casey subaru in 08,when they were on jefferson ave and I had the worst time with them, dont recommend them, the sales dept.sucks the service dept is horrible, everytime I went I left mad from having to argue with someone, they couldnt even do an oil change or inspection without drama.Make a drive to perry or another dealer research others. My car hasent been back there since 09 bought the car in 08.When I first got it they worked on it and messed up the red elbow from ypipe to turbo, they wrapped eletrical tape around the crack to repair it,really... saw this and couldnt believe they did this, neither could the service person. Before this the tranny was grinding from 3rd to 4th noticed this the second day of having it,they said they would repair it,cool they had it gave me a rental, they called me said they couldnt get it right ok so a week goes by two weeks, three weeks, four weeks they called in subaru techs in and after 6 weeks i got it back.Glad it got fixed but 6weeks,but they spent more money working on it then if they would have replaced it five weeks ago.If you buy from them get EVERYTHING in wrighting they cant deny that!!!!

Never had a problem with service department. They aren't the best, but no real complaints.

No experience with sales besides them trying to sell me then when I came back, they kinda shrugged me off. I really was contemplating trading in for a forester too.

Let me tell you what happened to me there and why I hate them. LOL well I was going to buy a 2008 red wrx sedan from them back in 08 and everything was good to go until me salesman was like the girl that works here likes military guys the he asked me if I would F*** her fyi (IM Married) So I am like you know what you are very unprofessional told him to eat S*** and left the dealership. Def would never buy anything from them Perry Subaru is a great place to buy/ recieve service from but I just bought my 2011 outback from subaru of richmond (same place I bought my 08 spec.B) they r a great crew and give military 1% under invoice

If you would have started a thread and asked about Casey before you would have had a ton of people tell you not to go there Sorry you found out the hard way.

Service - Perry
Parts - RK (Brad)
Sales - Pence or Annapolis

Perry is great, just bought a car from them. I hate Casey and had a bad experience with the people there too. Not even just Casey Subaru but Casey BMW as well. Worst dealerships in the area IMO.

I think there is something wrong with a dealership that cannot advertise or list their prices and the sales guys don't know the prices?!!...looks like Perry FTW! Thanks for all the info every1!

I had a good purchase experience from Perry :P They cut me a nice deal on my STI. The fact that Pence had the exact same car for sale for less then Perry advertised was a nice crowbar for negotiations. Got it cheaper then Pence was selling for

I bought my car in '07 from Shannon at Perry and had a great experience. But back in '09 when we were looking to test drive a new WRX we had one of the salesman tell us "you know we don't usually let people take these out for joyrides". After he pissed me off with his crappy attitude we went down the street (the same day) and bought a brand new hatch from RK. RK was very nice but overall it was the worst buying experience of my life....lol. But thats a different story.

If you guys have any problems with a Casey dealer let me know... I work for Casey BMW but the company tries to keep every dealer a great place for people even if they just come in with randum questions on the vehicle's

Ill let them know about this issue and see what happens cause I had planned to take my car there for its 100,000 mile service and to get check out for the little oil leak I have behind the intercooler but I think I may change my mind haha

I have not had any problems with the service dept, those guys are cool. Strictly the sales side. However, if the sales side is clearly below par, it makes me nervous about what goes on behind the scenes.

So let me take a minute to tell you my Casey exp. First of September I go to Casey Subaru and tell the salesmen that I was interested In getting a new Sti. At the time they had no wrx or sti on the lot. No problem I explained we just bought a 09 impreza from another dealer And that is what tipped me over to buying a new one. Here is where it all goes wrong.... The sales guy sits me down and comes back win a price of 41000 for a base line STI with no optional extras... I told him he was mistaken I did not want a limited I was only interest in the baseline hatch. He says that is the price.... As I was getting up to leave with my wife about to have a heart attack he explains that this is the price the shoot across the bow for "idiots and to clean out the non serious". I am fully aware of the price I should be paying as is anyone else " seriously" looking at this car.
Not done.
After we get to the real price of the car he asks me what color I want. I told him even if I have to wait I would prefer a white one. He said no problem if we have to we will order it. Now I know some of you are perking up ready to copy that and say ordering stopped in may/ June. Well I didn't know that then and Neither did CASEY.?? He calls me back on the week of the 12 th to tell me this after they took a 500 dp to order the car. He then says he has good news he has found another one NOT white but black and the dealer wants an extra 1000 for that one because of opp extras and I'm going to have to pay the diff plus shipping. HahahahahhA

To end this long story I went to PERRY Subaru that following sat. Had to get a dark gray one but paid less then msrp and was treated with the upmost respect. NEVER buy from CASEY. "I will fight you, and that is no lie. "

Casey pulled that same "our price is $6k more than msrp" tactic. So I went to RK and bought mine.

I dont know if it will make a difference or not but I did go in to my store today and sat down with my GM and showed him thsi exact thread about CASEY Subaru and he was not very happy with it as all our dealers with the Casey name should treat everyone the same no matter what they come in looking to buy... Even if you just wanna talk about the car and find info out on it they shouldnt have a problem with that.

He said he will be mentioning that to Art Casey(he likes to stop by the BMW store often) and see if he can get this issue resolved! He did also want me to tell you he does appologize for any problems that were had while you were visiting the dealership

HEH...Normal people always under estimate the power of nerds online. Though, I doubt if we will know if anything actually changed. I supposed we could get people to go to Casey all secret shopper and ****.

Let me know if you here anything else on this! Spoke to SOA yesterday night about the situation i was placed in and was confirmed that all dealers were aware that no orders could be made after July... sounds to me like he wanted my money to bait/switch me to another car. And tried to make up the price to get the car here because the other dealer was not willing to give up the car for that price. esp because CASEY did not have one to trade them. SOA did not give me any inclination that anything would be done on there end but we will see. Anyway Really happy with Perry (so far)

Has anyone here had an experience with any of the subaru dealerships in hampton roads? I am trying to find a dealership to go to because i am interested in a wrx. I am new to the subie world but very interested. All the reviews i have read have been old so just wondering if anyone knew of a solid subaru dealership in the area.

Thanks

Not everything at Perry is unicorns and rainbows. I moved up here last fall. When I got here I had a persistent screach that had been going on for about a year. The car also developed a warm oil smell. Finally, the car devoloped a low volume high frequency rattle at around 3000 rpm. On the advise of everyone here I took it to Perry.

After a quick look they said the turbo was going. They claimed the noise was from the turbine wheel hitting the housing. Wanting a second opinion I had it trucked over to All Aspects, assuming of course I shouldn't drive it if the turbo is blown. All Aspects found a leaky valve cover seal, a sticking starter, and a loose heatshiled bolt. $300 out the door. Perry obviously did zero troubleshooting. Oh, and by the way, during my next oil change I realized the undertray was not mine. In the shuffle it was apparently swapped out with someone elses.

I had my own issues at Casey Subaru.

I'm up in the D.C. area and everyone knows it's tough to find a new WRX or STI, it's even harder to find a good deal on one. I had been searching for a 2012/2013 Subaru WRX for a few weeks doing research in the D.C. area. I have been looking at cars for a few months and finally decided on the WRX. I contacted Casey Subaru due to they were one of the few dealerships that had the WRX in the color and options I was looking for. Everything seemed to be going great online, the lady was nice although gaps in communication. They sent me pricing information on the WRX and I had agreed to put a deposit on the car. The deposit was $1000 refundable after they had to do me a "favor" and make it refundable, every other dealership only wanted $500 and said it's always refundable. I asked the girl I was dealing with if they honored USAA pricing or ZAG pricing (truecar.com) after noticing they were the only dealership in the Richmond/Virginia Beach area that did honor it and she stated yes, that was the USAA price on the invoice (which it wasn't) but she seemed to want to work it out when I showed up and figured I would work that out in person. So everything was good to go, I just had to drive the 2 and a half hours and change the price to USAA pricing, sign, and pick up the vehicle.

I get there and met with the girl I had been working with and I mentioned the price of the vehicle and she stated that they would discuss it inside. I went inside only to be asked to pull up the price I was referring to myself, after which the price was declined. They stated it was not offered on that vehicle and they wouldn't drop the price at all... Why did you have me even pull up the price in the first place?! This is after the girl knew I would be buying the WRX, after the girl stated they honored USAA pricing, after I drove down to pick up the car. While getting the refund for my deposit the sales manager pulled me aside and asked what was told to me. I stated she texted me (which I have copies of) that you do honor USAA pricing and it was after she knew I would be purchasing the WRX, he still did nothing to try to honor the price or assist in purchasing the vehicle, he was also less than apologetic or pleasing. I drove home and contacted her regarding the miscommunication. She stated that they would be willing to discount the car $350 if I was still willing to purchase. I figured I had already gone through the trouble of finding this and proceeded asking them to deliver via truck which was agreed. She contacted me the next day to state that it was to be driven and $100 dollars would be removed from the discount...alright fine, told her I didn't prefer them to drive but that's fine and agreed on a date. They canceled my delivery and asked me to drive down to go over paperwork... I said would prefer they still deliver and I would have no issues as long as the paperwork was in order. (I've bought a few cars, I know what the paperwork says).

I didn't hear back from them in days until the weekend when they stated I had somehow agreed to drive down that day which I did no such thing. No apologies, no sorry for the mix up, no how can we correct this. By far the worst dealership I have been to regarding costumer service and car purchase. I did not deal with one good person there. I spoke with the finance manager, two sales people, a secretary, a sales manager and some other manager who was less than apologetic.

A week after I found multiple dealerships willing to work with me, honor USAA or ZAG pricing, and have much better service in the Northern Virginia/D.C./Maryland area.

================================================== ===

That being said, I can give you a ton of dealerships and people who I have spoke to along the way who were willing to give me a GREAT price but didn't have anything in stock at the time. Although down in that direction, other than Casey, I can't give much advice. Most other dealerships didn't have inventory down there at the time.
