FP HTA GT35 Turbo
Is anyone running either the HTA GT3586R or HTA GT3582R on the 2.5L? I want to save up for a rotated setup and i have not seen much info on these turbos ...

Some people like them others think they are bogus. I for one don't know to much about them and have no opinion on them.

^ lol. PM Im_Slow. He just recently put his fp hta 35r rotated kit on. Made around 420whp on pump with stock motor. 515whp on Q16, again stock motor. With a bigger fuel pump and a built motor, its easily a 600whp car. He loves the turbo. Pm him.

I have the 86 on my car. I like it. I dd my car about 160miles a day too.
I don't think it has that much lag, but just my opinion. I sure do like it. |

The HTA stuff is nice for sure, but pricey. The 82 is a better choice if you arent planning for 600whp, the reason being its slightly less expensive and spool is better.

For a stock block, i'd say if the 35r is what you want, get a the HTA3582R with a smaller housing like a .63 or .82. The HTA86 (3586) has a bigger exducer which makes it spool slower but also make significant more power, power you will never see on your stock block with the hopes of longevity. For reference, the HTA3582r is supposed to make 50+whp over a standard garrett housing and spool somewhere in the range of 400rpms sooner due to the cartrige design and 7-blade billet compressor wheel. The HTA86, spools like a standard garrett 35r however the power increases dramatically.

Doesn't the hta the same as Borg Warner's extended tip technology. Geoff of Full-race says it is the extended tip tech. The blades extend wider into the inlet of the the compressor housing. I'm thinking of getting the hta upgrade on my twin entry 1.06 a/r gt35r with full twinscroll header, uppipe, dual mv-s Tial wastegates.

Current setup made 308 awhp and 342 lbs tq @ 22 psi. I want to eventually get rid of the STi TMIC, 18G and Up pipe and downpipe. I want to go rotated with a FMIC, head porting and a set of BC cams. I had saw the HTA's on their site but not to much info other then what their site has. I would like to stay around the 500 =/- awhp area. |
