I'd be very interested in seeing that. From what I've seen online it looks like a hack job that is prone to failure. If you can actually get it in there securely, I will probably go to that.

I was just gonna ask if anyone one here us using it. It says it fits on the description. I'll give walbro a call to verify.

I haven't researched it a lot, but I've found this:

Cut up housing:

Entire thread:

Hoping more people try out these larger pumps with the 08+ housing. It would be a nice option vs a surge tank or double pump setup.

Hey, what kind of power do they rate those PAR gears for? And is that a dogbox or synchro??

-Thanks!

They're the synchronized set, rated for 650HP. 1st and 2nd are straight cut and make quite a bit of noise. It got a lot louder when I installed the motor/tranny/pitch stop mounts.

Is that 650chp? Or whp? Or whp on a mustang?

I would assume crank. And probably rated based solely on the design (size, shape, materials, manufacturing process, etc). As opposed to a body of applied data (gearsets in cars), as it seems this is how most power/torque ratings are achieved in this industry (the aftermarket at least).

Most of the noise is from the pitch stop. Those things basically turn the firewall into a megaphone

I also find rating a tranny by hp very comical. 650hp at what rpm. If its 650 at 7000rpm then it's rated for 500 tq, if its 650 at 2000rpm then it's rated for 1700 tq

I figured it was mostly the pitch stop. It really makes it audible in the cabin on startup. I have had several people mention how it sounds like a sound effect, haha.

Yeah, that rating doesn't make much sense. I'd have to assume it refers to 650ft-lbs though.

i dont understand that last comment....its a 650bhp rating...so it is crank hp. not sure what you mean that you assume it refers to tq?
If it was only in one spot on their website, i would agree that it could be a mistake and should be tq, but its listed as chp several different times and for several trannies

People think in HP so that's what some manufacturers use even if torque is more appropriate. I think this has been mentioned by various companies in the past. I'm not sure if it was PAR specifically though.
