Default When to put on summer tires?

Finally had enough in my car fund to get SSR GT2 + Goodyear F1 GS-D3. I was figuring to run them April through Sept. Anyone else have these tires up here in the great NW? What is your experience? When do you put on and take off these tires?

I run my SO-3's year round. But it doesn't go skiing and stays in the garage if it ever snows.

My rule is winter tires November-March. This year, I've still got PLENTY of snow driving ahead of me (ski a lot, my stockers have Dunlop Winter Sport M3's on em), but I can always throw those wheels back on to head up to the mountains if I need to. Or get someone else to drive.

I'm thinking of putting my summer wheels back on this weekend (I can never QUITE make it to march, but hey its close enough, right? )

This morning is a good example of why you should wait a bit more time before putting them on.

Planning to run Nokian WR about 9 months of the year.

Or, if 10 months of rain, then 10 months...

Well, it was too sunny this afternoon, so I put mine on. ALMOST made it to march

Going from 4 months of Dunlop Winter Sports, to sticky yokohama's.... its very wierd. Steering feels so heavy, but man I forgot the bliss that is grippy tires

I ran my GS-D3 year round except when we had a freak snow storm here on Whidbey Island. The the RE-92's went on to limp around for thoes few days.

Nice to see I'm not the only one getting the itch. I figured as soon as I put my summer wheels/tires back on it would start snowing again though. And since I washed the car today, I figured that would be a double whammy, so I resisted the temptation.

Don't everyone thank me at once

But you must understand, my jinxing if anything is intentional, as I ski on a more-than-regular basis (if there's such a thing)

i just have to make other people drive me

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm going out to PR with the IRDC on March 11th. They're holding a High Performance Driving School, and since I attended one last year, I can go out and lap when the driving school isn't. We take turns 1/2 hour on track and 1/2 hour off. Great fun, but I'd rather do it with my RE070s instead of my Nokian WRs that I put on for winter. Especially since I've put on new sway bars since last year.

It's my understanding that the problem with the RE070s is that they work better when it's warmer, I just don't know how much warmer that is. The WRs work extremely well, just not as well as the RE070s. Guess I'll have to wait to see what the weather is doing before I make my decision, unless some of you have a recommendation on what the right temperature is...

I find the Nokia sidewall a little too soft for me, but I run Hakki's for winter tire.
