Just yesterday I used a 2" Vibrant elbow pipe to connect the TMIC to the turbo. Worked perfect. My hacked prodrive also worked but the Vibrant hose is a much cleaner install and is also a much thicker/stiffer hose.

like somebody already posted, try using the Gruppe-S Kit:

The Gruppe-S intercooler hose kit replaces the corrugated rubber stock y-pipe, smoothing and increasing the airflow, making for a nice increase in power and better boost response. Includes a cast-aluminum Y-pipe, premium quality 4-ply silicon hoses, clamps. This kit will work for STi TMICs being installed on WRXs.

I bought a Spearco TMIC that was on a 04 STI. and i'm having fitment problems putting it on my 02 WRX. I got the samco tmic hoses that i used on my stock tmic. I tried using it with the spearco, the TB to IC is on, but the IC to Turbo is a little bit off, but held on with T-Bolt Clamps. None of the brackets line up also. So i'm thinking of ordering the Gruppe-S kit to try it out.

Short hoses are mostly the reason for my fitment issues.

Passenger side temp fix:

No fix for the driver side yet.

Short TB hose = This:

I'm thinking about getting this from Stylin' Motors. They have put together a deal on the elbow, throttle body hose and t-bolt clamps. Seems like a decent deal.

Penusai, you need to get the longer throttle body hose and extend the rear y-hose. And I wouldn't suggest using the gruppe-s hard kit because I tried using the sti hard pipe and without that extra play from a soft set like the samco's it's hard to get the STi intercooler in there.

That's about half what I paid for my samco kit. Looks like a good deal, but it doesn't have the "crossover"/BOV hose.

Someone buy it and let us know how it fits.

I'm talking about the one on the bottom of the page, is that the one you are talking about? I don't think the crossover hose is necessary. It basically comes with the elbow and the straight pipe to go in the throttle body and all t-bolt clamps.

EDIT: I'm buying it right now! Will report back soon!

ATK, you're right the crossover isn't necessary. That kit has everything you need for the STI TMIC.

From the STI TMICs I've seen, the differences are minor. I believe they changed the Y-Pipe in either 2005 or 2006 to full metal. AFAIK, that's the only difference.

I have a MY2007 STI TMIC from a Limited in my MY2006 WRX Wagon and everything fits. I've got a friend with what I'm 90***37; certain is a 2004 on his 2006 WRX. He replaced the Y-Pipe with a Perrin, I think. I'll find out if nobody on this thread knows for certain.

i am looking to make a swap on my 02 wagon and i have found an sti timc with the one piece metal y-pipe. now my main concern is finding the right seal, STi splitter and scoop that will allow the intercooler to work most efficently. where are the best places to find these things?

Updates in RED! 5/26/2008

Okay, so I got the STi TMIC installed with the Stylin' Motors Silicon hoses that I posted above and with some minor cutting of the hoses every thing fits like a glove!

To cut the Silicone I just tightened the clamp where I wanted to cut and put a brand new razor in the utility knife for my cutting tool. Works great.

Update: I didn't like the way the TMIC was fitting so I cut some more off of each end to make it fit better.
On the elbow I cut 2-5/8"(was 2.5") off the end that goes into the I/C. Then I cut 3-1/4"(was 3") off of the end that mates up to the turbo.

On the straight 3" piece I cut off 3/4" (was 1/2"). The t-bolt clamps are awesome!

Here are some pics of it installed on my Wagon. As you can see, everything is bolted up in place and looks like it belongs there. Except for the hose on the AC line.

AC line covered so no hole!

I just used a short piece of 5/8" heater hose. Did you get your hoses from Stylin' Motors also? I forgot to note that with my measurements I still had to push and pull a little bit to get the mounts to line up, so maybe another 1/4" more off all the way around would work well, even on the straight piece.

Ok, so after reading this about three times, I'm a little confused about what year WRX needs to use the USDM splitter compared to the JDM splitter. I have an '04 WRX and an '07 Sti limited intercooler with the stock sti y-pipe. I just ordered the hose kit from stylin motors, and I wanted to know what splitter and/or scoop I needed for it to fit correctly. Can I use the WRX splitter/scoop with no adverse effects? Or do I need to purchase only a USDM or JDM splitter? Or a splitter and scoop? thanks for any info you can provide.

The best thing you can do is to get the 04/05 USDM STi Splitter and Scoop. There was another member who did some testing while using the STi TMIC and WRX splitter/scoop. He tested the temperatures and said it made a huge difference having the STi scoop/splitter. Maybe he or another member will chime in on this.

As far as having an '07 STi TMIC on an '04, I don't know if it fits. From the little that I've read about them, they seem to have the same dimensions as the 04/05s.

My opinion is get the USDM STi scoop/splitter.

I did bend it back a little but was afraid that I would kink the line. I've been checking the line frequently and have noticed that it is starting to wear on the heater hose that i put on the AC line.

I've come up with a solution though..........Just buy the same AC line out of an STi! It is made to go around the TMIC, so I'll just swap it in and have no worries. Fortunately there is a guy locally that is parting out an 05 that I will be getting the piece from.

Yeah, that little mistake cost me a new line and an AC refill. $300.
