I drove to the poconos this weekend. About a 210 mile trip round trip. My MPG screen said I got 34.7 MPG's and I actually got 215 miles for a half tank of driving. Thats with the heater on and averaging 65 mph for the drive.

Respect all your posts.. but I am pretty sure that although your 2010 JSW TDi was based upon the old Golf Platform it was assembled in Pueblo Mexico. Don't know if you still have the window sticker or not? Point being, IMO where a car is assembled does make a difference that is all. My GTI was as solid as any BMW/Benz ever built. And our Imprezas are built in Japan (mine was) and I think that you take that into account when you talk about reliability? My Impreza (so far) has been rock solid as far as reliability. The MPG's (another issue). Hope all the best for you and your car.

No, he's right...the JSW's were built in Germany, the sedans, (like my 2011) were built in Mexico.

Guys, you're going to have to trust me on this. My 2010 Golf was a Golf, not a JSW. ALL Golfs were and continue to be built in Germany. The JSW and the Jetta are built in Mexico.

Don't believe me when I say that my Golf was built in Germany? That's car's VIN is WVWNM7AJ3AW326691. All VWs with WVW VINs were built in Germany. If you still don't believe me, copy and paste that VIN into one of the free VIN look-up sites on the Internet. You'll see that the car was built in Germany.

After reading more carefully, I apologize. Yes all Golf TDI's are produced in Wolfsburg... All this time I thought your prior Car (VW) was a Jetta SportWagen TDI for some reason, I guess cause the Impreza more closely resembles it. LOL oh man.... I remember looking at a JSW TDI and seeing Mexico as final assembly point... Sorry Man.. Respecting you!

For those of you with the CVT complaining of low mpg's, how many miles are you getting per tank???

I have never seen more than 300 miles to a tank in the winter and I usually fill up with approx. 12.5 gal and 260-270 showing on the trip odometer. I'm not sure why that matters but since you asked.

I'm not complaining (came from a 2006 Legacy GT), but I'm averaging 335 mi per fill up according to my Fuelly account. My average MPG is 27.7, but only 3 out of every 10 working days involve a long highway drive. The rest is all stop and go in town.

Just filled up an hour ago and had about 410ish on the tank and a measly 36 mpg displayed, 34 mpg calculated. I hate this cold weather.

Myrt, I've probably asked this before, but I can't remember. Do you run E0 or E10 gas?

any where between 275-310

my running avg is about 25 mpg.

When i take long trips I can get 230 miles on half which is quite impressive IMO, but those numbers are instantly nerfed when I come off of Highway driving.

Wow some of you do have really low numbers.I'm consistently getting 330-400+ miles on 12ish gallons at each fill. Every fill my DTE gauge reads 430-460...on a few occasions 490 and 500.

This winter, I've been averaging 280-300 miles per tank. I have 46 fuel ups recorded with an average of 25.4 mpg. My commute is about 24 miles each way. I've noticed using the auto start to warm up the engine for a few minutes has help a little during the winter months.

CVT or manual tranny? And is your 24-mile commute mostly highway?

I have the CVT. My commute is mostly highway but it's NJ. It can be stop and go in some sections and 60 mph in other sections.

I went through my credit card records and fill out the fuelly entries with the corresponding gas station. In my case, Exxon seems to give me the most consistent MPG all year round.

I've found ethanol free gasoline really helps.

I bought a 2013 Impreza Limited in late September and up until my first oil change I was getting about 26-27 MPG. After that oil change I noticed a slight increase to about 29-31. I am now at 7700 miles and about due for another oil change and I have lately been achieving 33-34mpg. As of last week my new Mileage is 34.5 I drive a round trip of about 82 miles a day for work and average (per indicator on the car) approx 41mph. Generally I drive between 55-65mph on the regular "highway" but on the interstate 65-80mph which quickly decreases my efficiency
