Default Too much oil?

So, due to sheer stupidity and not paying attention while changing my oil today, I put a full 5L into my 2011 wrx. This puts me way over what the manual says and well past the full mark on the dipstick. Is it in my best interest to drain a bit off or will it be ok?

Please feel free to mock me. It was a real facepalm moment.

I have been putting in a full 5 in my Subaru since you were in second grade. Many, many, many, many others do this as well. Too much oil is not a bad thing unless you go full retard and add in like 7 quarts. Relax and ALWAYS add a full 5 so you don't have to have 93 bottles with 9 ounces in them rattling around in your garage.

Good to hear, this was a 5 liter jug, not 5 quart thus my concern as its a good bit extra.

Number of engines that have died because of one quart extra? None.

Number of engines with spun bearings because it ate a quart or the owner underfilled it a little? LOTS!

^One quart is .9~ liters, and oil is commonly sold in 5 liter jugs.
