Sure to compete against RnR... yikes. It would be fun.. but to be truly successful you would need a GOOD project manager.

Read again, I wasn't hte one who had a shell. While I do have a spare 2.5, sorry it's going in another group project car (my car club's). It's going to be hard without heavy sponsorship or tutelege from a hard core Subie shop......

I have a good friend in Jersey that met and spoke with Mike Buchello sp? (green mustang that lost the sunroof) and he explained how the show works... They got into the discussion when the subject came up about building a car for the show from his shop... the deal is that pinks will give each team 10,000 to build a car for the show in a short period of time, winner gets to keep both cars... that is why some races are charity races now.. they have now monet to lose just time and effort. I believe the v dub guys used the forum to get parts so they could build a faster car because 10 grand goes along way when you have free parts... we can do it but we need a donor car to cut costs. I have parts I would pitch in as well but getting in contact with pinks is the deal. I am sure they would love a evo losses to wrx show...i mean evo vs wrx. Just some input for you guys

When will people learn that the WRX really isn't a "great" drag car...
Sure... it works... but look at all the time and effort required to build even a 10 second ride.... |

then, we'll build on a budget - If the car really goes through, I'm pretty sure if its going to be built by the right crew, we could get a few companies to donate parts also - including, but not stating that they will donate free parts for certain -
turbo manufacturers Various japanese performance companies Paint companies Nasioc Vendors ..... the bigger part you donate/the more you development you donate with time .... the more exposure your company/business gets - ... its all about the roll call. definately need a proper proposal made up to give the prospective sponsors a greater idea of how their product would be used and/or advertised... |

We would have one mean car if every member donated at $1 or half donated $2. Members that have donated can vote on what parts go on the car, from what vendor, and who will tune it, etc. I would like to have the car more verisatle car then just drag. Time attack, SCC challenge, etc. or even a NASIOC vs I-club battle.

we all know that a wrx is not the "best" drag car but neither is an astro van or whatever that van was on the show. its just for fun and advertisment and just to say we did it. i think it would be cool. if we built it on a budget and really got everyone to pitch in with time or donation of parts and money it could be nice.

Im surprised Crawford would not jump at this chance.
id donate money. I also hope the theory that the looser gets his car back is true. I talked to my Boss.... i mean busness partner bout this awhile ago and he was concerned about loosing a car, but did tell me he would build a older vw rabbit 1.8-2.0 block (bulitproof blocks) and add like a 200-300 NO2 shot to it, into an old gutted and caged vw rabbit that he has. Loosing that car would not be as bad as loosing a suby. |

Are you kidding?
If Pinks actually provides 10g's then a sick gc body car would not be that hard. 10 g's to spend strictly on speed... Get the car, a older jdm V4-v6 drivetrain (stronger internals stock and a strong enough for 5 runs trans) Rotated turbo with NOS for fast spool... Remember, all you need are 5 runs.. Plus, with these types of cars its pretty easy to sandbag, run lower boost, no nos, then keep adding it as you run. If I had 10g's laying around this would be easy LOL |
