Thumbs up

sweet vid. You do not see too many EJ's on engine dynos
Are the headers coated? I always love seeing a manifold glow from the heat

yes, headers are coated... uppipe is not...

this was shorter time load than we have been doing... just for some video... having issues with camera turning off thinking that it is overheating...

typical static loads have been 45+ seconds... longest being a few minutes...

should be fun on maximal.

That makes sense, you can see th up pipe glowing brighter then the manifold itself. I would really like to see what the up pipe/manifold looks like under heavy load and full boost for 45 sec +. You don't happen to have an laser thermometer to see the difference between coated and uncoated temps do you? What is this motor being used for? It is great to be able to perfect the motor before it ever enters the chassis.

i'm not a big fan of going in the dyno room when we are running an engine at higher loads.... we sheared a driveshaft once and it flew across the room, don't really want to be caught out by that...

i have full data with multiple EGTs, as well as EBP and a few air temp sensors... this is for a street car, so i'm not using all the sensors that i have available to keep costs down.

not done with pump gas yet... so power is still climbing...

found an interesting core issue with subaru engines that do extended periods with higher power levels... so that was worthwhile.

i'm going on vacation for a week, so i'll finish mapping when i get back... be a good xmas present for the owner...
