zurich, any experince?
Bought 2014 wrx limited last week. Dealer has 10 year/100k bumper to bumper zurich warranty. They are saying that its better than oem. Anyone dealt with zurich before?

Dealer likes it because they can buy a policy for under $300 and resell it to you for over $2k. Go with the Subaru plan, it is better and likely to cost you less (7 year, 100k miles @ $1,400/$1,600 (for WRX) or less without any deductable).

Dealer makes it sound like he doesn't get much $$ and is looking out for me (that's bs obviously lol) better than Subaru warranty but I didn't get a policy or anything.
I never buy any warranties and this time I got suckered into it. Think the fact that I live 3hrs away and they held us there till midnight. Guy just threw papers on the table and rushed thru it all. I hate buying from dealer. I got there at 6pm and knew exact vehicle that I wanted before I got there. |

Zurich is overall is a good insurance company. I've done work for them before on the auto collision insurance end. Having said that, I have no experience with the warranty side of their business.

Get your money back ASAP. 10 yest 100k and nothing in writing? Um - sure. Gotta bridge in Brooklyn. Once you get your hands on something, check the exclusions, replacement parts, etc.

If you're planning on doing any mods, don't waste your money on an extended warranty.
If you want an extended warranty, go with factory, not aftermarket. |

That's what I figured. Guy kept saying that there is no exclusions, 100% covered with oem parts and they don't care if I have intake/exhaust or basic mods. I asked for that info in written form. Guess it's in the mail.
How do I get Subaru warranty? |

I sell Zurich warranties here at my families dealership. We are used only, but have had great success with Zurich. Despite what a lot of people believe, most dealers are making TEXA$ on a Zurich policy. Yes we make some, but not a lot. But every dealership may vary, take it as you will.
Check which level you have. If it is is the Comprehensive, it is a pretty solid coverage. There are exclusions, but any policy, whether factory or aftermarket, should be fully read and understood to know precisely what is covered and what is not. The nice thing about Zurich is if it is a covered repair, they pay the repair shop over the phone with a credit card once the repair is completed. No out of pocket and fight with them to get it back later. We actually had a shop call and tell us that is they needed a recommendation he would recommend them as they are the easiest he has ever dealt with. Just my .02. Good luck with your new car!! |

^^couple of ??'s as my brother had Zurich nightmares. Do they still only agree to 'used' or 'non-factory' reman parts under the guise "well, your failed part isn't new"? Also, he had low compression in his engine. Was told that at 92+k, low compression was 'normal wear' with mileage that high and wasn't covered. Thus, I specifically asked about that b4 buying the Added Security Plus warranty on my Suby's. Was shocked how many other dealer programs had that lingo...

You really need to look at these policies as an insurance policy and not a warranty. When you are in a car accident you get used, reman, and aftermarket parts, these policies work the same way. |

I hear you. Thus I only buy OEM. With the Subaru Added Gold program only new parts. I think they do reman alternators or something but the same that is on the factory warranty. I looked at a link on one of these threads that was to a rip-off website. At least with the OEM plan, they aren't going to up and leave. Also found other people on here having a good experience ;-) with Subaru's OEM plan so I'm sticking with it. Never break down when there's $$'s in the bank, you know?

We deal with sas, zurich, and fidelity. Obviously Subaru is good. Zurich and fidelity are basically just as good. We really never have any issues getting things covered. Sometimes they actually send out an adjuster to take a look at things on bigger jobs but haven't gotten a no from them.

Usually with the extended warranties you can cancel them at any point. You will be refunded for a pro-rated amount depending on how long you have had the warranty. (there might be a 30 day window to avoid the pro-rated amount, but you'd have to look at the agreement). If you have a loan on your vehicle and you financed the extended warranty in your loan the refund will go to your lender.

Thanks Anida. I was just 'encouraging' the OP to get a copy. There's no way to know anything unless they have that.....

I do plan on going stage 1 with Cobb intake and some sway bars. So with that said, car will have some light mods.
