Really liking the machine a lot. It can handle so much more than I throw at it. My grinder is supposed to arrive today after long delay. Looking forward to further advancment in my quest to become my own home barista. Been so nice NOT going to Starbucks and the others every day. Nate going to place my order momentarily for more freshness, thank you!

That cord HAS to have some use other than simply to plug in. I think it was designed for a nuclear power plant, or transatlantic communications, or something.
Anyway, I'll be roasting orders tomorrow and Monday, and will mail out Monday. Thanks! |

The Ecuador is certified organic; the Ethiopia Illubabor isn't certified, but it's chemical free, most likely. Most Ethiopias are.
I personally wonder how much remains in your cup of joe, after roasting at ~450 for 12-17 minutes, and brewing. In addition, the beans are in the cherry, which is removed. Humph, i need to find out. |

Yea, personally I've got bigger problems than potential chemicals in my coffee. It's my lady that wants to see it written on everything!
Do me a favor, write it on the java and guatemalan! |

I guess despite removing the cherries, the beans could potentially pull pesticides up from the soil. And even after roasting they could remain toxic. And unfortunately, I think brewing would certainly leach all that deliciousness down into the pot. But ****ing R0UNDUP is in EVERYTHING we eat, drink, touch and breath anyway. So does my 2 cups of coffee a day matter?? |

Organic is largely a paperwork issue for premium coffee anyways. Small coffee farmers aren't using chemicals because they are farming the same way for generations. They also can't afford to get a fancy organic stamp.

Has anybody here tried doing the stepless mod to their Capresso Infinity grinder as described here: http://lowendespresso.blogspot.com/2...inity-for.html ?
Or, this similar mod that adds more steps? http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/grinders/501881 I am really thinking about doing the second one. My Infinity makes a nice even grind, but it seems like notch #2 is a bit too fine for my espresso machine (especially when using very fresh beans) and notch #3 is a bit too coarse. A notch right in the middle would be perfect. The advantage to the second mod method is that since it still has steps, it won't slip while grinding (with the 1st mod you have to hold the hopper in place while grinding or it will slip). Anyone do this? |

My gaggia is broken Seems to be emitting steam out of the grouphead and sputtering something fierce. Going to disassemble and see if it can be salvaged.

Just wanted to thank a certain someone here who tracked me down, and hooked up a 3lbs of coffee and a grinder to some troops in afghanistan. When looking for a suitable recipient, someone else chimed in with 2 more lbs, and here's what the final package I just sent looked like:
