There's a thread somewhere on this. At least, I've seen it done on GDs, should be the same concept.

I didn't take pics of the process. I just googled "vacuum forming", made a mold and a vacuum box, and that came out.

What did you use to make the mold?

Plaster

Edit:

I first made a fiberglass mold of the dash, then did the triple gauge on top. I worked the inside of that mold so that it would be smooth and poured the plaster to get a negative of how the actual part was going to be.

Thanks kinda found something similar but not really.

Next thing. Stupid question probably here. Has anyone rewired their fogs so you retain factory on/off switch but also have them come on for drl or when u turn parking lights on. I'd like to do this haven't decided if I want em one as parking or drl. But either way I do want to still be able to turn em on(drl option) or off

Here is my DIY roof basket that I'm finishing up.

Comes in at 17lbs

Still gotta paint it and I'm going to use Yakima Might Mounts to attach it to my cross bars.

Let me know what you guys think!

Pics of completed and painted would be great. I like it, did you use mig or tig?

Rubber mallet worked, too, but nicer with a block to make it smooth.
Currently no. I was going to do one of two things. 1 was to enlarge/extend the radiator brack bolt hole down some so as to not put as much stress on the radiator tabs or 2 bend it in which I'll still need to do 1's option as well. I would ultimately like to make two sharp bends like what GrimmSpeed did on there's. 90* bend at the end of radiator for 1/8'' to another bend, 80ish*...flush with the chassis lol

I just got some paint on it tonight! Sorry for the awful glare on the fairing.

I used a Hobart mig welder

Next I plan on getting some white vinyl and making a WRX logo to stick on the fairing and of course mounting it

Looks pretty good. I probably would've considered getting it powder coated while it was still bare metal, but that's mainly cause there is speeder oater right down the street and I want to get something done by the dude there. He does good work according to my boss who had some part of his Nova rebuild done.

As far as the logo, there's always those windshield vinyls that you can find on eBay that would probably work out pretty good for the purpose. Like this one, a Subaru and STi windshield piece: http://bit.ly/T4CNts

It's actually made for the sedans and requires quite a bit of work to make it fit on a hatch. I've only seen it on two or three hatches on here so far. So no, you don't see that everyday.
