Got the car on the dyno @all aspects dyno graph on post#8
285 WHP 264 WTRQ graph on post #8
Here is my mods Early 05 wrx stock block P&P VF-22 JDM PINKS UTEC ERZ UPPIE & DP BORLA HEADERS ATR 3" CATBACK APS TMIC AEM CAI UNORTHODOX PULLEY KIT SHELL V-POWER W/ SOME TORCO ADDITIVE FOR SAFETY 20.5 PSI TAPERING TO 19 Timing map is still from my VF30 when it was tuned at turbo xs boost and fuel is all I changed when i put in the vf22 aps tmic and pulleys. I originally put down 323 whp 289 trq on turbo xs's dynapac. I'm questioning the accuracy of the the turbo xs dyno ,I'm running the same boost level, and leaner fuelling . I can't believe i lost that much power but the car pulls very hard, I believe i actually gained power.... I think it's turbos xs dyno ? what do you think? I'm aware the dynapac's generally read higher but this much diff is crazy. I'll see if kienan can post the graph..

Nice, I think the last numbers you had previously were just rediculously inflated. I wouldn't feel too down about what such and such reads, proof is in how the car is driving.
I wanted to come out saturday and watch, but I was stuck at work. Congrats on the nice setup though, and don't get down about the 'numbers', they look good to me! |

Thanks, I'll probably take it to dinwiddie soon just to be sure.
Last time i went my traps were 106.5 so i'm looking for a slight increase fingers crossed...i dont want to break the tranny thats why i've only ran it 6 times on the strip .. |

Another thing though, dynapack measures from the hubs (turboxs), and shouldn't necessarily be compared to roller chassis dyno's. Dynapacks are known to be the highest reading, not having losses from rolling resistance and wheel weight. I understand they also rely more on operator inputs and settings, so there is greater chance for operator error (I could be wrong on this). Just trying to throw some explanation out there.

your right about that, one of my friends had his sti on the turbo xs dyno , stg 2 setup put out 312whp so the question is how much was it really?
The track will definatly tell the tale. Quote:

Each type of dyno will read numbers differently. Some will be more conservative than others, some more generous. The big thing is to check your numbers on the same dyno and that all adjustments are correct.

That's a great looking graph. Nice flat torque curve with peak before 4k. Peak whp right around 6k. Those are good numbers for a vf22 on a dynojet. If you want 300 whp you'll need to 24+psi with race gas or alky injection.

Edit: Im sorry if this post seems directed at you. It's just general bable. Gook luck man!
Recipe for a happy customer and no support calls: 1.)Get big dyno numbers on a dynapack. 2.)Detune the car during the “road tune” so that it's richer, less timing, less boost so that it never knocks. 3.)Customer has nice dyno chart to post online and brags about their butter smooth (anemic) tune. Recipe for an unhappy customer: 1.)Get big dyno numbers on a dynapack 2.)Customer gets knock one night and instead of hooking up a laptop, logging, and fixing it, they complain online. 3.)Sell utec for access port and claim the utec sucks. I don’t envy a tuners job. They have no idea what crazy-foobard setup is going to roll into their shop. Complexity is the enemy. The more wild the setup the more problems. Boost leaks, intercooler clamps, dirty MAF sensor, exhaust leaks, used turbo, Citgo gasoline, …… Some how they gotta make it all work and have you leave believing your return on investment was worth it. The customer has lofty expectations based on dyno charts posted online (maybe a turbo vendor and shop have an arrangement and post the one time turbo made X power but knocked to all hell afterwards) and the customer expects to make the same power. A tuner can’t afford to be on the phone all the time walking computer illiterates through hyperterminal settings. that dyno plot vs. the dynapack looks about right to me. |

You know what I actually thought about that before, it makes sense, However i'm not hyperterminal illiterate
I'm just looking fwd to going to the track for better times then my previous setup. If i can increase my trap speed by 1-2 mph i'd be happy.. Quote:
