Very good price. I almost jumped last week when it was $769 at Amazon.com. Would be all over this had I not bought a 20D instead.

I bought the XTi with kit lense for $809 Monday at CompUSA, sure there was added tax... but I walked out with it instead of hoping that they shipped it properly and waiting for shipment.

What are the advantages of this over the 350D other than the self cleaning and higher MP?

What about a 20D?

The 27 frame burst is really attractive to me...

Think I could get 620shipped for my Black Digi rebel XT body?

Buy it from B&H and use bill-me-later

I have used that 4-5 times now. As long as you pay it off in the first 90 days there is no interest. Although I always pay it off in a couple weeks, so I never pay a penny of interest.

Mmmm...I dunno'.
Depends on how good a deal, and how much you could get for your 350. I don't think I'd really trade mine up, but...bigger screen would be nice for seeing that histogram a little bigger. Self cleaning sensor is nice, but how often do you clean your sensor anyways...

If I were buying new, from scratch, XTi over XT anyday, but I probably won't be trading up, personally. Actually, the 300D to 350D just was a bigger set of improvments, no? And few made that jump.

I dunno'...just typing out loud...

The deal breaker for me would be the fact that they got rid of the small, always-on LCD panel that showed the following settings:

Dropping that in favor of an oontzy 2.5" LCD panel that stays on until you raise the camera to your eye is crap and makes me happy I've got the 350D.

I have to say I dont apperciate the small always on LCD screen. The times when I most need to use that screen is in the dark - and I am always fumbling for the recessed light switch. By the time I hit it and see what I need, the light turns off, not allowing me time to make any changes. They need to change the timer on the to like 10 seconds atleast.

On the XTi, you can set how long the screen stays on.

Why buy the XTi?
You would be better off getting a full frame camera instead.

If you have an XT right now, there is no good reason for this upgrade. The "upgrade" is to full frame, and make the best use of your lenses.

I HATE the crop on my XT.

yeah that was a mistake.

im sure its one of those new york shady stores that wont ship unless you buy tons of extras from them.

I'd cancel and get it from a retailer, because that IS too good to be true, good luck with that nightmare.
