My brother has a regular Fiesta and I drove it some while he was living out of town and didn't need a car. It's as base as you can buy, and it's actually pretty fun to drive for a little ****box that cost about $13k. I bet the ST is going to be awesome, or at least it better be given that its a $25k B segment car.

That's the thing. I would think something closer to a B-spec racer with maybe a +10hp jump would also be a lot of fun for much less than $20k.

Well, keep in mind that the price of an optioned Fiesta is somewhere between $16-18k. $25k for a loaded ST isn't that hard to swallow, but it's going to have to prove itself. It should make a good account for itself with 77 additional HP plus some suspension upgrades, but it may be hard to justify against a used Focus ST or even something like an older STi.

That's where I'm torn. My next car will be one of those 3. I'm leaning towards an 06-07 STi or a Fiesta ST. That or a unicorn: Blaze/Sonic Yellow bugeye.

My friend bought that white one a page back sight unseen from Oregon with about 35k miles a month ago and the thing looks incredible. Even the wheels had no pad buildup or anything.

It was priced like a diamond, apparently relatively reasonably. Think it was $24k which isn't bad considering the miles and condition but considering that's a brand new ST, meh. I'd lose 2 driven wheels and a bit of power to have a much nicer equipped daily.

Forgot to tell you...the ST you bought is a lemon...the good ones are sold at Village Ford in Dearborn.

Never looked at it but I'm sure my hood latch is chipped as well.

Dude you don't know the half of it :-(
The intake tube is all messed up with scratches, scuffs and dents, hood latch is chipped and surface rusted, boost gage doesn't work, rear brakes are leaving decent sized grooves in the rotor and it sounds like it's dragging when the window is down and you are driving slow. And holy crap, talk about brake dust. 60 miles since it was detailed and the wheels are charcoal.

My latch chipped.

Ironically I was at Mid Ohio with the guy who owns the company that manufactures hood props, latches, ... and other Ford pieces. He was driving a new Boss.

1) Intake tubes come like that from the factory. It's all of them.
2) Hood latch...not sure.
3) Boost gauge...call the dealer.
4) Rear brakes...call the dealer.
5) Brake dust...normal, get used to it.

What a horrible "review"/test drive.

What "pocket rockets" was Carroll Shelby tinkering with "back in his youth"??? That term was coined in the 70's/80's. Yes, he messed with the Omni to give us the GLH/S but I don't think he was tuning cars like in his early days.

The car is just slapped together with common aftermarket parts. It's definitely not worth the money.

At least this car got Shelby branded Recaros.

Just about anything Shelby nowadays is a rip off(I don't count the GT500 as a real Shelby, it's built at Flat Rock). The only people that like Shelby stuff in the Mustang world now were old enough to be able to afford his original stuff back in the 60s.

And that's exactly what this POS is. It's a few mods that you can buy yourself on the aftermarket and some decals. You can build it yourself for half as much.
