Love the attention to detail here, the custom bits on the intake manifold and fuel system are very, very nice! I look forward to the results!

Right now I am finishing up the electrical and dropping the motor in today. Then I am fabing the intercooler piping and exhaust then it's fire time.

How about a video of the start up when the time comes? Looking forward to some pull videos when it's dialed in!

this is the only part of the header that worries me. It doesn't appear that the pipes are getting a good merge. It's practically a discharge into a straight T with a tight radius to the up pipe.
It could just be the picture, but it doesn't look right to me.

^^^It is very close to being a "t", but it dose have a full radis.

When I was spraying compressed air in the runners it did not seem to back up into the opposite bank runners. I also did this with water and it seemed to work quite well(I know it's white trash flow dynamics), but I won't know untill I try. If its bunk I will make a new one with a larger radis.

Hey DOM, I plan on running 2.75 diam' intercooler piping do you think it will be fine with a HTA 6794 turbo? Or should I run smaller/larger piping? My 2 foot shorty exhaust will be 3" diam'.

2.75 is more than adequate.

NEW PICS IN POST #4

I know its been a little over a month, but I still have things to do on the car.
A little more fabbing, powder coat, heat coat, and some more lines made.

The next bigest hurdle will be the BRAKES that are being built as I speak.

Then hopefully break-in and a very soon after beat the SH** out of it. On and off the track.

Clean build! I'm really digging the hard lines for the fuel supply.

What would it take for you to make me hard lines like that or at least information on how you did it?

I love everything about this build and like I said earlier, awesome attention to detail!! My only question is why not just fab EL headers instead of UEL? You will see gains from the EL. Nothing but praise here!

^^^Thank you.
I take nothing from that except a simple question.
Biggest reason it's just personal preferance nothing more.

I have always been a fan of the typical Suby rumble exhaust note and while I may net better gains with EL (between 10-30awhp). I would prefer to just run UEL, keep most of the rumble and turn up the boost about 2 more lbs and vwalla make the same as EL.

Besides you know how it is with a build sh** always Changes. And if my car dose not sound as epic as I am hoping I will bitch out against my opinion and fab some EL headers.

And for sure I will have to make that decision as soon as I make my Haynes230 headers, that material is expensive as fu**.

What black paint are you using on everything? Looks good.

It's not paint, it is black wrinkle powder coat.

Unless you are talking about the throttle body (momentary lapse of lazyness/gettoness). I am changing that.

The only thing that have paint are my rims and that's just because they are going to get fu**ed up on the track anyways.

IMO if you are spending good money on materials for a header just go with what gets the best gains. I used to feel the same way but my WRX with EL headers sounds MEAN!! Think of it as a purr...reminds me of an F1 car starting up My swapped L has the UEL and I love the rumble, but I cannot wait to get the WRX going again. Aside from torque and HP gains it smooths out the power onset as well in my experience, which is nice for a bigger turbo.

PS: Badass build!!

1. Shave and modify intake manifold to your liking.

2. Make a bracket to hold the FPR and weld posts on IM so you can bolt the FPR on

3. Get about 10 feet of 3/8 stainless steel tubing ( trust me you will fu** up A LOT ) get a tube binder, flare tool and flare ends.

4. Spend plenty of time measuring and bending ONLY ONE BEND AT A TIME.

5. Send out to be powder coated, painted, chromed or what ever your into.

6. Assemble and admire your masterpiece that took you 100 hours from begining to end to complete.

When I pull the manifold off next week I will take step-by-step pictures and post it all up with in depth descriptions.
