I'm assuming the OP got this fixed since its been quite a few months since the original post. But I'd figure I'd chime in since I had a similar issue with my car brand new.

I have a 09 and had an issue where my right turn signal would flash fast, but only when the car had sat over night. Once the car had warmed up the issue went away. Strange right? I went out and saw that the culprit was the front passenger side turn signal. To fix it, all I did was take out the bulb and re-seat it back into the socket. Haven't had the issue since. I suspect an intermittant contact that fixed itself once the connector parts had warmed up enough and expanded.

Sounds like a connection problem from the bulb end to me, as well. I just bought an 09 so if I tend to have the same issues I'll know what to look out for

I ended up fixing it myself. All I did was take the bulb out of the socket and put it back in. Still haven't had any issues with it since. Its a pain to get to though. I ended up taking the airbox out of the car to get better access to the passenger side front turn signal. I've heard there is a way to get to it from under the car, but at the time I didn't know this, and I haven't checked since. I plan to get back in there soon though so I can disable the DRLs, since the connector you need to unplug is in there.

As everyone else said though, if any of this sounds like too much trouble, take it to the dealer, you should still be under warranty if its an 08 or 09...

Sorry for bumping an old thread, this is what came up in my search.

I have a 2011 WRX and starting at about 800 miles the right turn signal started having issues the same as the OP. The rear turn signal would blink really fast and the front one would blink really fast but not very brightly. This problem would be there for a few days then go away for a bit then come back again.

I brought my car to the dealership while the turn signal was working. Basically I made an appointment three days before and the night before I brought it there the turn signal started working. They spent hours and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I drive my car home and what do you know, when I put on the signal to turn onto my street it starts doing it again! I was pretty pissed so I decided to fix it myself. The problem is the actual wires that plug into the harness. There is so much tension in the way the wires were wired from the factory that they pull out a little bit from the harness, making the connection very poor.

To fix it, I physically pushed the wires back into the harness and then undid the way the wires were wired from the factory. This eased the tension in the wires so they don't pull out anymore. To reach the wires I had to remove the airbox, which was really annoying to take out but besides that it was pretty easy.

I will have to give that a try. I am getting the same issue with my 2011 STI but on the driver side. It has just over 2,000 miles on it and it just started up yesterday. At first it would do double time and then slowly go back to normal but after driving for a while it just began to stay fast.

Glad I didn't start a new thread about this.

My 2011 WRX is doing the same thing, left blinker goes really fast and dim, then magically starts working normally again. This issue just came up. Naturally I checked the bulbs, but both front and rear seem to be working. Guess I will take it into the dealership since it is obviously under warranty.

I would give the suggestions here a whirl but honestly, a car with 5k miles shouldn't have this issue and Subaru made reaching the bulbs a real PITA without tools (on vacation so no tools). I am starting to hate newer cars, seems as if manufacturers make everything a pain to do on them on purpose so you have to go to a dealer.

I had this same issue come up with my 2011 Impreza, right after I installed wiring for a trailer, so I thought I must have done something wrong. Finally got to the front blinker bulb, took it out, put it back in, and the problem went away.
But WAIT, theres MORE!
Now my check engine light is on, my cruise control light blinks, and my traction control light is lit, indicating that it's turned off.

Any ideas! I looked all around the air box to see if I dislodged any plugs or wires, but I don't see anything obvious.

Throwing codes p0102 and p0113. I'm thinking maybe since I had the key in the on position while playing with the signal, and the MAF unplugged maybe that's what threw the codes. I just reset them so I guess I'll find out.

I too am having the turn signal problem. It is my driver side front signal, it works just is very dim and is blinking rapidly. This is a 2011 WRX. Do I have to remove the battery to get to the bulb to "re-seat" it and potentially fix it? If not, what is the quickest/easiest way to get to that? Thanks in advance.

I have a 2011 Sti hatch with 4500 miles on it. I replaced the passenger side turn signal bulb twice in 3000 miles. At first oil change I informed the dealer and they replaced the wiring harness under warranty. Take it in and let them deal with it.

Which wiring harness are you talking about? I recently switched out the deck in my car and I don't want that to be the cause of this and have the dealer do something to my warranty. Is the harness anything to do with what is behind the deck? I also added a steering wheel control harness to my car when I did the deck and don't know if this could have anything to do with it.

The dealer repaired my problem today. "Tech repaired contact in left turn signal socket" was stated on the work order. Took them .2 units (hours?).
