Default steel wheels for 2012/2013 imprezas

Has anyone bought any steel wheels that they like yet? How are the tirerack ones? Are they hub-centric or do they center on the studs? I'd like to have the wheels fit in a stock manner.

Loot at the required offset @tirerack and then go back in time to research Outback, Legacy, and Impreza's that have the same specifications. After you have accomplished that, go to a junk yard and buy them used - a lot less costly. The used ones can be blasted and painted and look brand new.

I am starting to see wrecked 12's showing up in salvage yards by me already. I stopped at one the other day and he wanted $500 for wheels with tires

No, basic steel wheels from a base model sedan. I thought about it after I made that post and I guess with the TPMS sensors it's actually worth the price.

i bought a set of 16" steelies and winter tires from tirerack about 2 months ago. the only thing extra i bought was extra tpms sensors for the steelies. i put my steelies on a day before day hit us in ny. i paid liek 750 shipped to my door and they were here next day. they also came with open ended lugnuts with the package as well. They mounted and installed the sensors and all i had to do was throw them on the car and reprogram the sensors

so $750 including wheels, snow tires, TPMS sensors?

how do you reprogram the sensors on our cars? is there a way to do it without a special tool/device?

Which snow tires did you pick? The steel rims w/ sensors for all 4 on tirerack is $376 w/o shipping. Are you happy with the tires you picked? Were they good in the snow?

if your tpms is the correct (subaru) frequency, it works without any programming.

I bought 16" steel rims to mount winter tires on and save the 17" factory ones for the summer. I paid $70 each from a local dealer.....no TPMS sensors, so I'll have to put up with the light on through the winter.

yea it was everything the tires i got were the general altimax artics i had them on my last honda and they were great on a front wheel drive car. So I went with the same tires on the subaru. As far as the sensors goes, i have a buddy of mine who reprogrammed them for me but you can get them without the sensors and use your own but I just said screw it and bought new ones

I thought you had to go back to your dealership to get the TPMS reprogrammed?

Are TPMS 100% necessary for steel rims? Will it just throw up and error light?

necessary is debatable and subjective. without them you will have a "(O) " light on your dash.

on some cars this is more annoying than others. does the impreza "ding" at you or anything or is it just the light?

There's no noise, just the light. It blinks slowly at first, then stays on.

Default 15" Base OEM Steelies & Blizzak's

I have a '12 Imp Sport. I lucked out at a local dealership, someone had just bought a 2012 Base Impreza and chose different wheels to put the stock tires on than stock so the dealership had the steelies them laying around. I'm purchasing them for $40 a wheel then buying TPMS sensors & bought 195-65R-15's from Tire Rack. This way I don't have to worry about hubcentric rings or (O). I'd call your local dealership and see if you can get a deal.

Do you have any other images of the car with the steel wheels on taking further back (ie. so you can see the whole side profile of the car with the wheels)???
