They look like DMS painted yellow to me. This is probably true because I know DMS does this with another company in Australia.

Just to clarify though DMS is the maker of all their own stuff I don't want anybody to be confused.

I think they're just DMS Golds made to Whiteline's specs.

DMS has a special arrangement with Whiteline in Australia. They are DMS Golds with Whiteline labelling. They are only available for certain model Subarus and Holdens and they are only available in Australia and where ever else Whiteline is authorized to sell them. Whiteline is not authorized to sell them into North America. DMS-USA is the only agent authorized to import DMS products into North America.
Last I checked Whiteline had only bought a total of two sets from DMS anyway! That was a few weeks ago though, maybe they're doing more now.
There would be no advantage from buying these from Whiteline, anyway (even though it's a moot point.) They are the same thing as the DMS Gold, available from yours truly and dealers all over the country. Check the DMS website for the list of dealers. That list will continue to be updated. JC Sports just signed up, in fact.

I got a price of $1150 on those coilovers from a US Whiteline dealer.

DMS normally charges $1800 for the equivalent coilover.

Hm.

Well sorry, but you can't buy them in the U.S. (the Whiteline versions.) Whiteline has already tried to sell them into the U.S. through at least one of their dealers even though Whiteline signed an agreement with DMS not to do so! Needless to say they got into trouble with Jamie Drummond for that.

That Whiteline dealer wouldn't be able to deliver the shocks to you anyway. If they did then I and Jamie Drummond would want to know about it. Then Whiteline would get in trouble again, and possibly lose DMS.

This is all about keeping pricing consistent, being fair to all the dealers, avoiding confusion in the marketplace, and giving the customer the best service.

That price you got quoted has to be grossly inaccurate. If that is truly the price then they are losing money on them. Whiteline pays the same amount for the shocks that I do but they also have to pay V.A.T. so actually they pay more than me.

Anyone who is a Whiteline dealer and would like to sell DMS is more than welcome to go through the proper channels and contact me. I'd be happy to set you up as a dealer for DMS.

Funny, I thought it was all about setting artificial price controls.

Actually, though, you are right on price-I checked the Whiteline site and their pricing of Whiteline coilovers converted from AUD to USD is right around $1600. That's right off of the Whiteline site. Right around $3100 AUD.

The kit said vendor offered me was probably the adjustible strut/Whiteline spring kit. That would make much more sense in terms of price.
