i wish i would have, but i did not. i wasn't sure if i had enough thread, definitely did. I just did the stich they had suggested.

overall it turned out pretty dang good, it looks better than any pictures i have seen (no offense, just pictures usually don't do justice for small detail)

Pictures just don't do it justice. I think it looks much better in person, even though my bottom spoke didn't turn out quite as well as yours

Agreed, it looks very good, and feels even better in the hand.

I am tempted to redo it, I still have thread from my shifter. The bottom is bothering me as it is slightly off center

Ok I redid it. With the stitch they suggest it is actually a little tighter, but it turned out much better overall.

I really don't want to do that again....ever....

I need help from Canada. Apparently the side skirts on the USDM Impreza Sport 5-Door are an option there. Well, I live in the US and I've ordered all the parts to install these on my base model 5-Door Impreza... but I need to know where to drill and how big. An installation guide would be wonderful, as it's not an option here in the states so none of my service guys have info on how to install them. Not that I've been able to find!

Thanks in advance!

In Canada only the Sport & premium come with the skirt. They are only offered with 17inch wheels too. So it is impossible for us to get the car without a skirt coming with 17inch wheels.

Basically none of us in Canada installed the skirt since it came with it.

Is it an accessory/add-on that the dealer can install like Aero Guards or the front lip? If so, having access to that installation information is what I need.

I'm looking at the service manual right now, but it doesn't describe how to install the "side sill spoiler" on a car that didn't come with that part from the factory. All it describes is how to remove it from a car that already has the part installed.

It looks to me like it's held in place with approximately 16 clips.

I've got all the clips associated with installing it... just no info on where to drill/attach these clips.

I think they are talking about the entire rocker panel trim piece.

Yes sir... the whole "Rocker Spoiler", as Subaru calls them. That long trim piece that goes underneath both doors. Aero Splash Guards and the Strake kit can go on over it, but I'm talking about adding that entire part itself. To my knowledge, no-one's been crazy enough to do this yet. Of course I need to try it!

Don't you work at a dealership? Can't you just go look at one?

I do, but looking at one and saying "Oh yeah, I've got it. Let's just drill some holes in my car." seems like a bad idea. I just would like some sort of instructions or information on exactly where to drill and how big.

There are no holes in the piece?
Size? Put a mic on the fasteners and drill that size since they will expand.

How are you going to protect your holes so they don't rust?

If I was doing this I would take a few sheets of paper together, use a car with them installed and Mark the location on the paper as a template

Anyone else notice that the stock grill blocks air flow to the intake? I decided to cut out a portion of the grill and put a screen in its place to improve air flow.

I still need to paint the screws black to match everything else.

Or blocks water from just rushing into the air intake =)? You may have an interesting time at the next automatic car wash you go through.

hmm, didn't think about that, haha. I saw someone else do it on theirs a while back, so hopefully nothing too bad will happen.

Wouldn't that be an issue with the mesh grill too though?
