Hahaha, I'm with you man.
Then the opportunity comes up, and I'm sore from riding!

I had a larf on Saturday night. This dude come jogging past me with a big smile on his face like he was having some real fun. 15 second later I hear this meek voice scream out "Stop, police!". A second later this short little fat cop with glasses goes running past, out of breath chasing this guy. I asked the cop if he needed some help, as it was obvious that he wasn't going to catch him. The cop says "Hey, I got this!" with real attitude. I look at him and say "Well, it looks to me like he got away. Maybe next time".

I don't like Whistler cops.

Well let me share my Opening weekend as well.
So as I later found out on my 3rd lap on Lower Whistler downhill my front tire slid out I unclipped and jumped off my bike down one of the 25ft-ish rock faces ending up rupturing my right Achilles tendon and slamming my head into the rock face and having no memory since the night before sleeping in my car(Didn't have a hotel till Friday). By the time I actually became aware of my surroundings I was at VGH in the ER 10hrs later from my crash. I ended up waiting till sunday morning to have surgery on my Achilles since half of it was up by my calf. All went good except they gave me a freaking catheter and it was defiantly the worst experience of my young life. Now I'm at home with a 3 month recovery time and I cant even drive my Scooby!

Holy ****, man. That sucks. Especially the catheter part. I've never had one, but I've talked about them at length with nurses (mostly semaj)...

I have an aircast walking boot ("FP Walker", size medium) I can lend you when it's time.. It was a game-changer when I sprained my ankle last year. Just being able to get out of the house without crutches does so much for your morale. Also, the air cells hold everything firmly together, and isolate it when you stub your foot into things. I went to a friend's wedding with it on (and danced with my wife, and helped setup and move stuff) and very few people noticed I was wearing it. Lemme know when your doctor says it's ok to try it...

Holy cow that sucks! Sounds like your season is over before I've even pulled my bike out of winter storage

I feel for you man.
I'm nursing a sore achilles, and couldn't imagine the pain and suffering you went through. Good luck with your healing, and hopefully by August you can come up and ride with us.

Also, has anyone gone to suspension-therapy to speak with Arthur yet?
I'm about to make an appointment as the Cane Creek is a serious shock to try and tune. I was able to tune out the "flick" but it's still really inactive on the washboard.

Go get a trail map and some directions from one of the 2 bike shops on the coast. Spin cycles is in Gibsons and Off The Edge is in Sechelt. I've been to both, and they're both good.

But you're gonna shuttle up the roberts creek FSR. Make sure you hit Mach Chicken. Also, Janet's Jungle is awesome with lots of optional (and big)drops and jumps. Everything else is good. Everything!

But yeah, see what the shops say. And plan on starting on Mach chicken every run if you can. It gets better and better the faster you go. Fun fun!!

Have a good trip gents.
I'm knee deep in family responsibilities this weekend. Penance for my weekend at Whistler, I guess.

We only ride <39lbs DH bikes around here j/k

Most of the time we try to go weekdays though, to avoid lines!

Just got home from an awesome first day at whistler this year. The 38lbs V10C worked not bad too haha. I'm amazed how good the conditions are already I was expecting too be covered in mud after the first run, but in all honesty it was a little dusty in some parts (the parts with no snow on them lol).
Now its a 1 week wait , till I can go again .
I just have to figure out how to upload these GoPro videos to the interwebz.

Nice choice of bike RMX.
The V10C is one of the fastest bikes I've ever ridden. Before finding my Knolly, the v10c was top of my list, and for good reason.

Also,

Sunshine coast was great! Was a bit lost on the first day due to the poor quality map we got (Spin Cycle was out of the proper map) and spent a lot of time and energy just riding around. Was lost most of the morning but managed to bump into a large group of riders (16+) that got us oriented

Did Mach Chicken, Janet's Jungle, the trail that starts off Hwy 103 (Pacheko street?), DNZ, Cunning Stunt, Black Tower, Rod's Rocky Trail and Mexican Jumping Beans

Will definitely visit there again, and will probably organize a shuttle as well :P

Crankworx is coming Aug 10-19

I wanna rent my favourite 4 bedroom condo in Whistler for slopestyle weekend, but only if others are interested. It's a minimum 3-night rental in the summer, so Thursday-Sunday Aug 16-19. Anybody interested? Is $550 per night plus tax. Have a look.
