Warning for 2.2ltr Single Exhaust Port and Borla
The Borla single port exhaust header does not fit the 2.2ltr automatic trannied Impreza properly. It is really really tight and one of the holes did not mate up properly. The last hole had to be drilled out out to make it fit. It was not a direct bolt on. That is all!

whats funny is when you go to their site, you pick out your car and everything, then it asks what tranny you have, but either one you click gets you the same part #

Did you try contacting Borla at all about this? And what generation header is it? That was a problem they had with older generations. My 2 port 2.5 header mated up quite nice.

Most of the borlas fit a little tight on the head exhaust studs. They don't have any expansion joints. I think that's also why the tend to crack.

I never tried to slide it on with all the studs in place. One of my studs came out with the nut so I tried to put the stud on 'after' I installed the header and the stud would not screw in. I should've taken the header back off but I had to bang it in place in the first place. Time was little and I wanted it on NOW. I haven't had the time to deal with it since. Part of the problem is that I have 3 other projects going on as well (Both Subaru XT6s and Subaru RX turbo), hence little time. Last edited by Kevin Thomas; 01-19-2006 at 11:59 AM. |

Yeah, I didnt mean try to get Borla to replace it or whatever. I was just sayin maybe they could document it and if enough people complained, maybe something would be done. Or they might be able to say how many other people have seen the same thing.
