Talking i test drove the wrx today and..............

it's as good as advertised. i was very imprezzed! i drive a v8 mustang and it was the first turbo car i've driven....the turbo lag is kind of aggrivating but when it kicks in....it's fun! unfortunately, the only one they had left was an automatic...the salesman told me the 5 sp. was a lot more peppy. the momo steering wheel felt good in my hands. there's no other words to describe it...it was just a lot of fun. the sticker was 25,500 and they were stuck on it. is that what everyone is paying? msrp?
there was no spoiler and no 17 inch rims. it had the 6 disc cd changer. one other note, i was driving it in birmingham during rush hour so i really couldn't open it up. i got up to 80 and that was it. i took off a few times from stop lights also. anyway, i want one.

that sucks ... only 80...hehehe, I hit 80 between stoplights to.
Anyway nice to see you intrested, the 5 spd is more peppy, the auto in subarus kinda suck, they add to the lag. First you have turbo lag...then AWD lag....then AUTO lag, it kinda sucks.

A friend of mine has a 5.0 Stang, I always scare the *&(% out of him around turns

yeah, when i test drive a car, i want to see what it will do. i wish the traffic wasn't so bad today. anyway, i can't get that car out of my mind though. i've test driven a GT and an SS camaro but the thing i like most about this car is that it's different. it's not too bad when it comes to mpg either. the GT and SS are strong, but that WRX i drove today was just different.......i'm in love!

Yes, the lag is something you have to get used too. At first, it was really bringing me down. But after I got used to it, and knew when to downshift, it is no big deal.

But when you floor it under 3000 rpms, nothing happens. You might as well be driving a Hyundai.

The answer to all problems with the WRX is.........

Downshift!!!!!

Auto 0-60 is somewhere in the 6.4+ second range. 5spd is 5.5 - 6.0.

You should be able to get one for $250 - 750 over factory invoice if you order (vs. taking one off the lot).
