Default Attn: Paultg...I have dyno #'s

Hey Paul,

I went to the dyno today and this is what we came up with. Ford claims 320hp and 317 lb-ft of torque.

Going by what muscle mustangs results, figure in an 18% driveline loss to the dyno.

RWHP=272.1 add the 18% = 321 @ the flywheel
Torque=281.0 add the 18% = 331.5 lbs-ft of torque

Even thought the redline is at 6800 rpm's we cut the run at 6000 because of the lack of miles on the motor (300).

After I put about 3000 mi. on the engine the numbers should improve. But as it stands right now I got what I paid for an then some.

Dave

Cool, sounds like you got your low end torque 2WD dyno'd just in time. Just in time to put it in storage for the winter since you live in MA. See ya on the road next Spring!

Altered Beast,

Enjoy the salt & the sand, and the people who can't drive in the snow cracking up your car.

heheh I hear ya man. Main reason I gave up my 2 twin turbo Zs moving up here a couple months ago and got a WRX, a 2002 GLX, and a 4WD Sonoma. I couldn't see me years of tuning, track runs give way to salt or go into storage.
387 RWHP/421 torque from mainly fuel and boost tuning. Low 12's, blast on road course, but snow..... I wasn't going to push my luck.

Altered BeasT,

Well, I am fortunate enough to have a buddy who hooked me up with his Eagle Talon that he is no longer useing. So with that as a winter beater I'm all set.

The Cobra has ABS traction control, but no matter how good or bad it works I would cringe driving it though the winter.

Sweet Dave! On the dyno at 300 miles.
I would think the base numbers will improve also once the car is really broke in. I don't know how the ecu's and sensors work on the Fords but I would tend to believe they will control things a bit better once the rings seat and all that good stuff. So, when does the K&N powercharger (whatever they call it) kit go in.

Be warned, don't give me that mustang parts magazine, I have circled way too many things for you to order..

Glad your having fun.

Where in Hanover is ACS? Do they carry all kinds of fluids as well as parts? Can you tell us some more about what they are all about? I might want to stop in, my parents live there and I grew up there. Thanks!

My kingdom for an AWD dyno... is the market truly that small that my willingness to shell out copious amounts of cash to get it dyno'd means nothing?

Arggh..

Korey
...I think we should all chip in and buy that center differential that makes the car 2wd so we can have a mass dyno day...

jlyttle,

Here's there web address www.acsracing.com They are going awd dyno soon. They also are setting up a shifter cart track next to the shop in March I saw the layout for the course. Great just another thing for me to spend money on.
