2008+ owners...please read....
Congrats on your new car and welcome to the forums!
Now before you start posting, please keep the following in mind: 1. Your car is brand new. Yes, it's just a new year, but for all intents and purposes, it might as well be a Jeep Cherokee as pretty much 100% of the car is new. 2. Will XXX fit my car? Probably not. The turbo is different, the intercooler is different, the exhaust is different, etc. 3. When will manufacturers start making XXX parts? We don't know, please bug the manufacturers. 4. I found XXX parts that will fit, can I bolt them up? Your best bet is to wait for engine management before you start bolting up things. Each car has something called open/closed loop fueling issues mandated by the EPA that can negatively affect vehicle modifications. The wise/safe course of action is to wait for engine management then modify. Yes, you can probably safely get away with simple mods, but the smart thing to do is engine management first, then parts. 5. But I found out that XXXX from an older Subaru will fit on my 2008. Well post that crap here and we'll update this for all to see. If anyone sees anything to add, please post. The genesis behind this post is to prevent 9000 posts of will XXX fit my 2008. This is an annual annoyance and I'm hoping this may stem some of that. Old parts that WONT fit: Exhausts TMICs FMICs Rear sway bars Intakes for Legacy GT Old parts that WILL fit: Downpipes for Legacy GT BPV/BOV for Legacy GT Lightweight crank pulley short throw shifters/bushings front sway bar TMIC for Legacy GT FMIC for Legacy GT (may have to mod to fit) Turbos for Legacy GT Clutch and flywheel THIS LINK contains a huge list of parts that will fit 08/09 cars STI Exhausts that will fit

I'd like to add that a good starting place to look for parts will most likely end up being the Legacy GT boards

FYI, someone needs to try test fitting this, but I do believe that the 08 WRX Sedan exhaust system is ALMOST same as the Legacy GT exhaust system (including the mufflers!).
It looks like the mufflers mount exactly the same, however the Catback flange looks like it is rotated at a different angle... However, a FULL exhaust may bolt on without any problem, as would a dual muffler kit like the Prodrive mufflers (just axle backs and not the catback) The 2.5i's (non-turbos) look EXACTLY the same though... BTW, i'm going by diagrams here not the actual cars, so it will need to be verified first. Last edited by Kostamojen; 08-15-2007 at 12:04 PM. |

Score one for the LGT owners! I cannot wait for decently priced turbos that fit the stock location. And rotated manifold setups just got a whole lot better because of the redesign.

Cobb is already showing a catted DP, short-shift kit and front sway-bar for the new WRX.

Has it been verified that the turbo fitment is the same as the LGT?

I'm not sure about the front endlinks... but the rears on this 08 wrx are already a metal type so less benefit (presumably) from changing those out
Not sure about fitment but size wise eyeballing the bars it seems 19-20mm fsb and a 17rsb |

will post my findings. and not that it belongs in the engine/power forum, but version 7 rims are a fine match, except that booger of a light that tells me the tire pressure is low is getting really annoying... |

from what I'm told there is a sensor in the wheel, and you can get the sensor from subaru, or tire rack.
I'm gonna see if subaru can just turn off the light from the ECU, otherwise it'll have to wait till I run through these tires. I'll post the results regardless! |

Gauges, wheels/tires, some suspension stuff
are your only choices at the moment. A lot of manufacturers have 08s now and are making parts so we should start seeing stuff soon but it might all be delayed while engine management is figured out. |

didn't do any measurements on the top hangar for the legacy, but I'm guessing that is off by an inch as well, maybe more. I'll probably not measure the rest of it though... |

I measured the swaybars with a digital caliper, the front is 20mm and rear is only 15mm
