 must be all that toxic waste I bathed in as a yout in Jersey. It really messes up your perception of things.

Now, let's talk about Sterling and how much it sucked anus and didn't have a single redeeming quality, except maybe being closer to the river brown muddy thing with the bugs.

All those interchangable suburbs are growing at breakneck speeds. The last time I was in Ashburn, it actually had... stuff. 10 years ago, it had a dual rink hockey facility and farms and... well that's it.

Some of the best games I ever played were on those rinks. That was a pretty nice place. For Virginia.

And trust me, I know. Pretty much my entire graduating class is in debt up to their eyeballs in McMansions anywhere between Ashburn, "Brambleton" (whatever the **** that is ) and Landsdowne. They all suck so much.

I'd love it when the silver line opens

I'm moving to DC in a month anyway.

Nothing more cookie cutter than Reston Town Center...ok maybe the national harbor.

meh... Reston Town center has some very nice architecture. One of the best designed outdoor malls/office parks I've ever seen.

National Harbor on the other hand, I would agree with you on.

Not sure if you can be both well designed and cookie cutter, but I suppose you can be.

I like Reston Town Center. It's a nice place to go on a sunny day.

I like National Harbor, but it's in such an awkward location.

Hmm, I actually miss living in Union. That was a nice, quiet, old-style town with a lot small-town character, especially if you lived close to Stuyvesant Ave. I thought it was going to be Italian country, but there were a surprising amount of Filipinos there.

Union NJ? I remember you were from Jersey, just didn't realize you lived so close to where I grew up. I was in Westfield/Mountainside for 21 years.

The ethnic diversity of northern Jersey is/was definitely my favorite aspect of growing up there.

Wow. We're practically neighbors. I just hated driving through the island part of 22 to get to Westfield though. Aggressive NJ driving at its worst. My mom used to love shopping at the center there. It has a Main Street feel to it like Stuyvesant Ave, but with marquee stores.

Listing to settlement in less than a month. I love how totally disconnected this region of the country is from reality

You think that's bad? Some of my neighbors paid up around 700k. Something about a real estate bubble around 2005-2006...
