magnetic oil drain plug?
does anyone know where to get one of these? and i found some really really strong and small magnets(size of a watch battery) at a local electronics shop for a dollar and was thinking that i could simply stick it to the stock oil plug but i dont know how comfortable i feel about doing that.

I wouldn't. On the chance that it might come loose and stick to something it shouldn't.

Someone makes a magnet that you stick on the oil filter itself. Like a circular jacket. I think its called filter mag?
Might be a option thats easier than the drain plug? Cheers, Greg Downing |

magnetic drain plug
go to junk yard and find a 1990 and older loyale or xt with an automatic transmission, and steal the drain plug out of that, it has a magnet built into to plug, also you could go to a dealer and buy a rear diff bottom drain plug from like a 00-01 legacy, hope this helps

i just bought some cheap neodymium magnets off ebay and stuck a few on my oil filter. what can i say i'm cheap. and if it doesn't work then hey i'm only out a dollar. had them on my car for 8 months now with no problem. they pick up alot of junk from road debris since they are strong.
