At least 2 of us are from upstate NY, the dealership should have or should be getting next months allocation list. Call them and see what's up

Did you get Navi? What are you specs?
In due time brotherman... At least it'll be that many more days avoiding battling old man winter!

Base model wrx hatch. No navi. Only option is STI short throw.

You're totally right about the winter, it won't be over until March/April up here in the NW. My dealer said he'd call the minute anything changes. A week ago he said they got a pretty small allocation, so I'm guessing I'll be waiting a bit.

Damn I love this car. Break in period officially over (5 days, is that a new record?), although I was pretty liberal with it to be honest. I kept it under 4k in 1st and 2nd, but definitely got up to 5k or so in the higher gears. I launched it a couple of times tonight for the first time. That is definitely going to take some practice to master, as is the 1st-2nd shift. The turbo lag is pretty noticeable there unless you slip the clutch a bit. I'll go Stage 1 in a few weeks and I'm sure that will help quite a bit.

The car is also very forgiving if you make mistakes. I did some nighttime driving through the twisties and could have gotten in trouble a couple of times, only to find I was FAR from the limits of what she could do and with a little flick of the wheel I was right back on my driving line. Some of the review mags complain the steering is too light, and I tend to agree with them if you are talking about high speed, sweeping turns (think onramp) but for the tighter stuff it's really nice and aids in making quick corrections.

A few notes that might help people considering what options to order:

PBP - The color is friggin sick. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it. I might start calling it Taj Mahal Blue because it looks different at different times of the day. It's definitely right in the middle of blue and purple, and it's really deep. I can't wait to get my windows tinted because I know it's going to make the whole car pop that much more.

Nav - Definitely love this. The nav itself is decent, but the total package makes it worth it. I love the sat radio and bluetooth audio, and the stereo sounds much better than the stock head unit in my Outback Sport. The voice activated guidance is painful though, and that's the biggest downside compared to the Garmin. The regular search features are nice, especially being able to enter addresses using the zip code. That makes it so you only have to type in 2, 3 letters max to get your street, which is a big plus over the Garmin where I feel like I usually have to type out the entire street. Overall I'm very happy with it and would recommend getting it to anyone on the fence, even if it means an extra week or two wait (I'm not sure that's true about the wait anymore though).

SPT Exhaust - Was a little loud for my taste at the beginning, but it's settled down nicely as the car breaks in. Also definitely louder on a cold start than after the car warms up. Somehow I feel like the car would be incomplete without it. It just sounds... awesome.

DCCD - Kind of a WRX vx STi thing here. I use it, but honestly probably am not driving hard enough to tell the difference. I had it in the lowest setting and went into a 15mph chicane entering a rest area at around 40 and the backend slid out ever so slightly, which I liked. I guess I'd have to really do the same thing in different settings to feel the difference.

Anyway, on to the pics. Tint and full clay/polish/wax coming either this weekend or next, then I'll take some with a real camera and post in one of the other threads. But until then:

Break in over!

All cleaned up and ready to play.

Anybody need an Outback Sport?

Very nice brotha!!! I'm getting some winter tires today or tomorrow and hopefully will be able to drive my car like crazy. I only have 111 miles on it so far since it has been so cold and snowy around here lately. As for PBP I honestly think it's purple lol. I saw one in person at the dealer when I pick up the car but it never look blue to me even under direct sun light. WRB is way sick though in person. I told you, you would like that SPT exhaust. I hate loud fart cannon too so after listening to the SPT exhaust it was the best choice for me.

Yeah I love it. I'd say if you're not sure if you like it or not don't get it. That goes for any color really. You're going to have to live with it for a long time and the last thing you want is "I love my car except for the color..."

Ordered a DGM WRX premium sedan back on Saturday from Neil Huffman, got it at invoice and the dealer said it should be in by April.

Now just to sell my Audi A4 for more than what the dealer offered.

Didn't get any of the extras, I'm going to self-install a Kartboy SS and bushings. Will probably put the kartboy bushings on my 2010 SPT short shifter while I'm at it.

Yeah I've been in that boat before. I ordered a 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe in Athens Blue, a few weeks before it was supposed to come in I checked on the order and the sales manager told me they'd never actually placed my order, but seen one with my specs in their allocation. Turns out it was actually someone else's order and for whatever reason the first sales guy didn't know that.

I was moving back from overseas so I needed a car, and had the order timed pretty perfectly, or so I thought. Anyway, I found another dealer that had a black one with everything else I wanted, so I just bought that. Regretted it almost every day. Basically whenever I saw another black one (like 7 times a day) I just felt like it was too common. And I see maybe one in Athens Blue a YEAR.

Sold the car 15 months later. Just didn't feel special enough for me. I wish I'd figured something out for those first two months and waited for what I really wanted.

Don't be a . If you can hold out, do it, and then a year from now you'll be a .

I probably won't make it up to the snow this year because I have too much going on right now. Looking at new tires though and was going to go with a good set of all seasons like the Bridgetone Pole Positions, but reading the reviews it sounds like they pretty much suck in the snow anyway. So it's going to be a set of Michelin Super Sports for me, and then maybe next winter I'll do the Blizzak/steelie setup.

PBP is great, when it's clean I've found. I don't care for the purple TOO much, but I see it as blue most of the time unless it's in direct sunlight and from an angle. It gets dirty super quick though in this "dusty" environment. I washed her on Monday and did a "quick detail (meguires)" and it looks amazing. By Tuesday though the bottom sides were already getting dusty again; but at least my top half is still a very bright, deep blue. Tint helps a ton, too bad I had to get legal limit (27%), because it would look amazing with even darker windows.

I've found that with the DCCD (might be placebo) when I tried this fairly tight on ramp that is a giant S curve that with it set in Auto it stays very collected and safe. Setting it to Auto - though and it definitely oversteered more (kinda scared me at first!).

As far as power goes, I'm kinda in a "meh" about it at the moment. The STi gearing is great though, as it keeps the RPMs high for a very quick, linear acceleration. I can't wait to go stage 2 though, or at least a stage 1 flash to get some more "oomph."

What car did you have before this? This definitely feels quicker than my G35, though that was years ago so who knows. I feel the power most while accelerating through tight turns. It's almost scary how well it holds traction at full throttle.

Looking at the Cobb website it seems like you get a lot more bang for your buck at Stage 1, and not much difference going to Stage 2. I'm guessing Stage 2 is more about getting a better sound or something.

Looking good btw!
