The town, date, wheels, tires, scoopless hood, FMIC, PTE turbo, etc all match. There is no debate. Not trying to beat a dead horse, but you are simply incorrect.

I'd like to know what other cars in the Twin Cities are that similar to Bens?

It's definitely his car, but it's also his decision to let anyone in on what happened.

Just drop it guys. Get over yourselves.
His car is gone. Thats all that needs to be said.
He has a forester now and it looks great.
Stop bringing up the past...

My buddy had am 04 sti that he totaled by sliding off a road that turned to gravel at 100 mph. He provided receipts for over 15k invested and he got most of that back from the insurance company.

I can't see them buying off on a custom fuel system that burns the car to the ground or even headlights that blinded on-coming traffic though, that certainly seems safety related to me. Here's an example of what we would consider a safety upgrade causing a claim denial:

We digress though. I'm still wondering, with Ben's attention to detail and documentation, how a malfunction of that magnitude could have happened. I almost wonder if E85 ate through something... I've seen a few people demonstrate that not all fuel components are capable of withstanding the elevated ethanol content.
i dont know what happened here but i kind of use this thread for information purposes. I dont like ethanol. Long term use of that stuff can be very harmful. Dry rots everything and is one of the most harmful things to our water supply when it comes out of the exhaust by condensation.

Ben is a great dude, but completely subjected himself to anything anyone wants to say, it is a forum, people need to get off their "responsibility" horse. He is not posting because he doesn't want to, he is a big boy, but all you "Ben protectors unite" need to give it a rest. If he was going to make a false insurance claim or lie to get money back on a problem he created and insurance wouldn't normally cover it otherwise (which I doubt he would do), then PEOPLE SHOULD CARE because your insurance rates start to rise ever so slowly from things like this. He is not a scam artist, but if anyone was scamming the system then they should be hung out-

Can the mods delete the last 10 or so pages and lock it? That would be ideal

I have a 2013 wrx hatch for sale or take over lease payments. Not a burn mark on it. Have it for a year. No mods. 5000 miles. Just sits there in the driveway. Start fresh.
On a side note ethanol dry rots anything rubber. Would never ever use it

I haven't been on NASIOC in awhile, such a bummer to see his hatch gone. It definitely motivated me to start working on mine.
