Zero deductible on your insurance is the best.

Quit worrying about it, nothing can prevent your car from being stolen or broken into. The money you could spend on alarms, etc., is better spent on insurance that covers you completely.

What kind of car is it? Where do you live? I would say the factory alarm is sufficient unless you live in the city or plan on adding serious mods or loud stereo equipment. I just have the factory alarm on my 05 LGT now that i live in the 'burbs, but i had an aftermarket alarm/factory alarm/kill switch/Club/video camera on my GTi that was modded when i lived in Philly.

i was thinking of getting a lexus something something, but most likely won't. it's just a whim at this point. i live in a decent neighborhood, but there's theft. one of my neighbor's car were stolen from our parking lot. it caused some concern for me.

Car theft happens everywhere. Im willing to bet your neighbor had a car that's frequently stolen, modded or left unlocked. When i lived in the city my sister's honda was broken into twice in one summer. It had an aftermarket alarm and the club.

I get scared parking my LGT in the city overnight...
I could never keep a car there.

powelton village may be mostly students, but there are still some hoodrat locals to deal with.
