Steering Wheel Controls do not work with 8100NEX
Hello,
Recently i got myself used 8100NEX. the HU came from 2015STI that had nav originally (sport-tech) my model is 2015 sport, so i had the base radio. the guy sold me the wiring harnesses and everything was pretty much plug and play. other then the steering wheel controls everything works fine. regarding the steering wheels i have the SWI-RC module to talk to the steering wheel. the module led lights up everytime the car is started and blinks 7 times ( which is for pioneer radios).. everything seems to be wired correctly but the controls do not respond.. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Also, it wouldn't hurt the update the firmware on the SWC and reprogram it. Mine acted weird the first time on my '15 and the as corlon said, the 1/8 Jack wasn't in place. Did again, updated firmware and it worked great.

the jack was in the radio, everything where it supposed to be.
i will research how to update the module. regarding the programming the module, it should be programmed to version 7 correct? and there is also a little switch/pot on the other side.. not sure what that is supposed to be set to.. cant find anywhere in the instructions what that needs to be set to.. Thanks! |

The switch on the SWC module is for the radio type (#7). The programming version is for the vehicle (ver. 8). The only issue I can think of is that PAC audio does not list anything newer than 2013 for Subaru. Try this link and see if it helps http://www.pac-audio.com/SWI/SWIAppG...Radio%20+%20BT
