I'm a senior electro-mechanical designer who contracts to DOD. We work with a rapid prototyping branch for Army & other branch aircraft as well as some fixed wing & vehicle platforms. We work with everything from weapon delivery systems, communications, we worked on a program called Brown out which allowed pilots to safely land helicopters in a sand storm & know where the ground was, we were the first to put BFT (blue force tracking) on humvees and Blackhawks, later Cobras for the USMC & ah-64 (a & d models) , we were the first to do a production cmws common missile warning system on apaches ...

I'm a draftsman for my job that pays the bills and am working at starting a medical device manufacturing company with two of my friends at night / on the weekends. With only 3-4 people working part time (if that) we have been able to get ISO-13585 certification for the company and a CE mark for our device. Been able to sell in Europe for the past six months or so and are hopefully at the point where the company is going to be making more than what it costs to keep the roof over our heads / bills paid. Working 60-80 hours a week between two jobs blows but since I boned myself by not finishing my mechanical engineering degree, being part owner of a medical device company is one of the best avenues to make the most money. Unfortunately, it looks like sleep is going to be what takes a hit soon since my wife is only two weeks away from popping out our first kid. I'd rather work my ass off while I'm 30 and be comfortable when I'm older than never be able to retire...

What do you think of the new fiats? It's a shame they didn't keep them simple like the old ones. I could change the clutch in my x1/9 in about an hour. They were simple, fun cars. A buddy of mine bought an Abarth and loves it.
