No bolts for the rear. The multi link design has very dynamic camber so as you go low, the camber goes way negative. You can get either the Whiteline kit (KCA326) or a set of Lower Control Arms. LCAs generally offer a wider range of adjustment.
Most coilovers come with camber plates in the front so you good there unless you want -4* of camber. One of these days I might get more motivated to sell my BC Coils... Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 10-19-2011 at 12:21 PM. |

Yeah. I got just Eibach springs on mine and the ride isn't too bad right now, but i can tell that my struts aren't gonna last very long.

I sorta have plans to get the exhaust aligned away from the bumper as well as a rear lip to cover the damage. I also kinda want to get a '09-'10 WRX bumper and go quad tip. I may end up doing both because the lip is part of a kit that has a front and sides. So I'd get all the lips and still get a WRX bumper later. |

Hi guys. New to the forums. I recently picked up an 08 red impreza sedan with 1300 miles on it. I was wondering what you all might think the best 5 performance modifications you would make to this car and the best 5 interior/exterior/sound modifications you would make. Thanks.

As far as performance goes, first on your list should be a rear sway bar, as the 08+ NA Impreza don't even have one. You can pick up a used WRX RSB with endlinks and bushings and everything for less than $100 here on the forums. That's a 15mm bar. Personally, i went with a 19mm Rallitek RSB, which is the same as our front bar, or an STI rear bar. It's up to you what size to go with, but do some research on the handling characteristics. Next, if your car is a 5spd, get a short shifter kit WITH front and rear shifter bushings. I got a full Kartboy setup, and it totally transformed the way the car drives. The bushings can be difficult to install if you don't know what you're doing, but they're worth the trouble. If your car is an auto, well... Then, you might consider springs, exhaust or intake. But keep in mind, most aftermarket exhausts are made for WRXs with 3" piping, which is too big for the NA. Something about back pressure, we end up losing low end torque. If that's ok with you, go for it, plenty of guys here do. But basically, you won't get much power out of the 2.5i without spending tons of money, it's just not worth it. Spend that money on suspension upgrades and you'll have a slow car that handles awesome and is still a blast to drive. I don't have much to say on interior/exterior upgrades. That depends on your personal style. And as far as sound...well, the stereo on the 08-10 Imprezas SUCKS, but i would rather spend that money on performance upgrades. Again, that's just me. Good luck with your new Impreza and keep us updated on your upgrades! |

suspension would be one of the things you can focus on, I've seen some N/A's cream on turbocharged cars on the track. then again, it could be the driver

Little help here guys and gals. Recently (friday before last) installed a Cosmo CAI, (yes after doing a bunch of research) and a week later I see my first CEL (with the green cruise light blinking as well). I thought it could have been because I was driving kind of hard on a hot day. But it just came up again after going about 5-7 minutes to work.
Now I thought that when I bought it the air filter had oil on it and actually looked recently and it doesn't, so I know I gotta spray it down. And I will, but will that get rid of the CELL (think it could be the fact that because there is no oil, its not catching the dirt so it goes into the engine). Lastly, no did not get it tuned, was also mentioned to me that wasn't necessary. Any help would be appreciated!! |

Go to an auto parts store and have them pull the error code from the ECU. The ECU can't tell if you have oil on your filter or not, so I doubt that's it.
My guess is that you are running lean. Common problem with intakes on the MAF subies. I would get it tuned, or skip the intake. There is a big thread on intakes for the NA cars in the NA forum. |

Hi all, new first-time Subie owner (yes, I know I joined seven years ago - been lurking for that long!) Just bought a certified '08 Impreza 5-door for the missus and we're both loving it. Handles great and far quieter than what we traded in ('03 Matrix XRS).
Couple of noob questions: -what is the easiest/best way to de-chrome the buttstache? -we're looking at adding the OEM iPod cable but I'd rather run it to the glove box than the armrest. Is this feasible (i.e., can I just run the cable through the left side of the glove box, or will it get pinched?) Thanks in advance! |
