I am running 23psi on my stock plastic bpv on e85 with my vf52 and it worked fine. I then did the 16 cent bov mod to it and it works even better no leaks and i actually went back to it from a turbosmart kompact bpv and sold it because i had no benifit from it. The tmic on the other hand is in a box in my garage as it is very small and can be a problem at high boost levels. You can do the bullet proof mod to prevent the endtanks from blowing off but it is still to small imo. I run a IPR tmic which is the perrin knock off and it works great, fitment is a little tough but it cools pretty well and have not had to many issues with it and the price is dirt cheap.

What on earth does E85 have anything to do with the stock BPV leaking or the stock TMIC blowing the end tanks off???

Yes

The BPV doesn't "like" more than 17 psi or so because it leaks.
The TMIC doesn't "like" more than 19 psi or so because it physically explodes.

Running E85 vs pump has no effect on the tendency for these parts to physically break at those pressures. They will "last" the exact same amount of time on E85 as on pump. If the TMIC is going to explode at 19.23 psi, then it's going to explode at 19.23 psi whether you're running pump, E85, meth, or C16.

i understand all that, but isnt the point of e85 to run more than 20 psi? i just want to know how long those parts will last, and from what i am seeing its not long at all..

Stage 2 is probably already causing the BPV to leak, and is already on the verge of blowing up the TMIC. You shouldn't increase the boost above this at all without swapping them both out first. You can run E85 all you want, but you don't want to turn up the boost until these parts are swapped out, otherwise there's a good chance you'll end up stranded on the side of the road with a TMIC in pieces. E85 still has good gains even without turning up the boost due to the fueling and timing optimizations you can make.

My tmic and bpv failed on my 12 WRX at 19.5 psi. So basically stage 2 is the limit.

Now going Perrin FMIC and more power haha.

Am i the only person that has a plastic bpv that doesnt leak? I have not had any issue with mine at all and actually prefer it to a turbosmart bpv.

How do you know it's not leaking?

did the IC blow up, or did the plastic just come off?

Your fuel doesn't exactly dictate how many pounds you run. I hope you research this. And the higher the boost doesn't mean more power exactly.

FMIC won't give you more power alone. And if you're on the stock turbo, you're wasting money.

The end tank just split. Here's a pic.

The FMIC allows for more potential later, cooler charge temps, and is only 400 more over the only TMIC I would buy.

I would rather buy the FMIC then the TMIC now and then sell it down the road and be at where I was for the FMIC.

As for what happened see the pic above

I have had 3 different bpv on my car stock, turbosmart and forge with all 3 i have never had a problem hitting my boost target of 22-24 psi depending on the gear. I am now back to the stocker with the 16 cent bov mod and still have no problem and really didnt even need the mod but still enjoy it.

I'm well versed in the advantages and disadvantages of an FMIC, and when to buy and use them. Also well known that it's a building block for later. And it's well known that the stock 08+ can fail easily.

That being said, a good TMIC is good to over 400 whp. I was just making sure you did your research and know that slapping on an FMIC isn't going to advantage you on the stock turbo immediately.
