I work in Oakland, near EAST Oakland... story of today
So I drive down to the nearest wallgreens which happens to be in the ghetto... no big deal, I enjoy going to the ghetto and watching the hilarity from Donks to drunk bums...
Anyway... I'm in the store getting gatoraid and some pepto, on my merry way was this dude, native of Oakland in his late 40's I'd say... convo goes as: Him: Loooooorrrrd Who hears me!!! (while looking at a card) Me: I do. I hear you. Him: *looks at me like I just insulted him* "Who the f' you talking you!" Me: You. You. You. Him: "Well what the f' did I do?" Me: Um, you asked loudly who hears you, so henceforth I said "I hear you" Him: *confused* "WHY?!" Me: "Just being friendly" Him: "Oh... ... ... Well! Then how the hell ya doing?" *laughs* Me: "I'm about to s*** my pants if this line doesn't go any faster him: "I already s*** mine! When I got to my car I laughed for a good 10 mins... Im still laughing! God, I wish I had it on video. damn, Oakland is a fun place.. ALWAYS something weird happening... Like that hobo on rollerblades last week...

Do you still leave your chuks in the car, or do you stuff them down your pants before you go into the store nowadays?

I've got a new housemate moving in at the end of this month. He is a cop. An Oakland cop. An Oakland SVU plain clothes officer.
I told him I was going to the Pick and Pull near the coliseum and told me to take his gun. I think he was serious. |

I think the prices are pretty reasonable. I grabbed 2 new O2 sensors, 2 fan relays, 1 aluminum "thingie" that bolts onto the cylinder head and 2 funky bolt head pieces for $25. Good prices to me!

I've never bought higher end items from a pick and pull so maybe they do screw you on those bits.
I did grab 4 struts/springs from a GL10 a couple years ago from a Pick and Pull in Sacramento. The springs were so new none of the paint has come off 'em...just a little dirty. They charged me $20 ea. Sweet! Seems they've expanded the import section quite a bit too. |

The Walgreens at downtown Oakland is another circuit you might wanna visit, and in the mean time, please enjoy your evening dining experience around~!
Gosh, they're on a roll. Did they hit 7 restaurants already? Time to bring in a super hero, like a brucelee... with guns. =p |

If you get bored with Oakland you could always go to Southland Mall in Hayward and see if anything "exciting" happens.

I'm originally from the east bay, but I've always steered clear of Oakland. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't East Oakland the Oakland hills? Like where all local celebrities live, like George Zimmerman and Tom Hanks? I only base that on my experience of driving on 580 and all the big houses are to the east of me.

That's funny. Reminds me of MY neighborhood.
Like Carlos Mencia said 'If you don't think God has a sense of humor, just go to Walmart and LOOK at the people.' ^ I think that's relevant. If not, it's still funny |
