Default Help. doing my own 60K service

Yo peeps, well just past my 60k marker and its time for me to service my car, i got the basics down with all spark plugs, oil, oil filter. but i need help with diff fluid, tranny fluid, coolant especially, power steering fluid. i've done it before with a friend, but totally forgot what fluids to use. just help a noob out . thanks for your help, but try not to embarrass me . i read the unibombers post, but its just tells you the different type of fluids you can use, its good but im just getting all my stuff from redline. It didnt clarify with the coolant either, i want to know what mixture to use, felt lazy but when i heard the quotes from local shop i decided to just do it on my own . but yah if i have any more questions ill just ask. thanks again! laters

You did not read my post as if you did you'd know that you do not need to do power steering fluid. Nor did you read my post as you'd know the coolant type and mixture. Don't be lazy, READ...the information in the sticky threads is to give immediate answers and to not clog the forums. Try reading.

I think it's around 6 quarts for coolant. Since you're in Hawaii, I wouldn't be TOO concerned with an exact 50/50 concentration. As always, use distilled water.

transmission fluid - Extra-S 3.7 qts. so you need to get 4 qts.
differ fluid - Extra-S OR any other GL-5 75w90 gear oil, ex. Redline, mobil, Amsoil. You need apprx. 1 quart
coolant - Genuine subaru coolant + the additive (subaru coolant conditioner). You need 1 gallon of coolant + 1 gallon of distilled water. Stock radiator capacity is 7.7 liters, roughly 2 gallons 50/50 mix coolant/water.
Power steering - subaru's use ATF fluid. Its the automatic transmission fluid, get one quart of Subaru ATF, I get this at local dealer, around 6-7$ per quart.

These are the fluids that I use when I do my maintanance. Oem fluids. Use these that I mentioned or whatever suits you.
