Talking Official Perry Meet Ver. 2.0 pics thread

First off, I would like to thank everyone for a fun and safe meet. The unofficial headcount is 23 Scoobys, making it the biggest of the year!

Second, please take a second to post a review/thanks to the folks at Subaru of America. Without their support, we wouldn't be not only getting cool prizes at each meet, but they do a TON of stuff that very few of us recognize behind the scenes. Send your thanks via----> this link

If you are feeling especially ambitious, do the same directly to Perry via---->this link Our thank you card will be mailed out on Monday or Tuesday.

Hampton Roads Pics of People thread is updated with today's pics. If I goofed on anyone's pic, please PM me and I will change it. View it by clicking -------> this link

Our newsletter, if you haven't heard about it yet, can be found via---->this link

Upcoming events will be an uppipe install or two and brake fluid swap. The next official meet should take place next month and is tentatively scheduled with the Richmond crew in Williamsburg. Please keep an eye on the Mid-A forum for details about all, or let our newsletter send a link to your email.

Pics and videos are below. If you have any pics that need hosting, please PM me so I can host them for you.

Awesome pics. I will post mine up when I get home from work. There wasn't enough time between getting home and coming here to even upload them, let alone post them here. And alas I will have to wait until then to watch the movies too. Damn 1st Comm for not letting me D/L quicktime at work. Oh well, such is life. I had a blast today, especially meeting new peoples who don't normally show up to these things. Can't wait till the next one when the whip will hopefully be runnin right.

Very glad to have met you, and please, please come to future activities. It's gets kinda lonely being the only wagon owner sometimes. I wish you guys could have stayed around longer, we could have switched cars and did a little comparison test! If you do get a WRX, I hope you get teh wagon. I got is cuz it's cheaper, hauls more, is more stealthy, and I am missing out on thousands of dollars worth of the aftermarket such as bodykits, suspension bits, A-pillar guages and the like. If they don't make 'em for the wagon, I won't be tempted to buy them. So I am sort of in the same shape as the RS guys!

Boy, the RS boys are really going to hate now

Default Great meet...crappy drive home!

Tobi and I had an oustanding time with everyone! It was great to see so many Imprezas/owners in one spot knowing we're all in love with our cars! The food was good, albeit greasier than Ron's 7th grade hair-do, and the drag races were off the chizain!! Also, I couldn't imagine a more beautiful and awe inspring sight like that of 23 Scoobs rollin' down 264. The kart races were a blast, and just for future reference...NEVER LET RON PASS YOU!!!

Now, on to the bad news...
After we bid everyone a fond farewell, my wife and I headed over to the Subway next to Lynhaven Mall. Upon making a left hand turn from Viking onto Phoenix (it's quite fun at the right speed, as I have taken this turn many times, both w/ and w/o the wifey) my right front tire blew out. This, coupled with my madman braking style, careened the RS directly into the curb. I sliced a nice arc in the grass, and finshed my manuver by sliding back onto the road. As I sat there, perpindicular on the thoroughfare, I couldn't believe what just happened. I quickly hopped out and inspected the damage. The tire is molded around the fender, my rim is now a few ounces lighter...because of the chunk that was ripped off. The bumper is pulled away from the mounting point and my sideskirt is mixed in with the tire and fender. Also, the transverse link is bent, making the wheel appear to have some aggressive positive camber. I have few pics [WARNING: Those who have weak stomachs should walk away now]...OUCH...OWWW... MOMMY!!!

Sorry for such a long post, I guess I just had to vent my frustration.

damn that is two scoobys down right now, you and dee....that sucks bad dude...i am glad to hear that you and the knuckle cracking wifey are ok!!! it seems repairable.....but you two are ok is the important thing.... i hope to a fast recovery....

for those of you that left the action early missed my action in the big winged cars as i careened off the track into the pit striking the wall at full speed and hitting the car that the attendent was working on throwing him off the car....he was quite pissed and i am sure he would have beat the crap out of me other than the fact that i was three times his size.....if someone else prefers to put up i write up on that one that would be cool... if no one else puts one up i will when i have more time...

other than that i had a blast hanging out with everyone and performing parking lot antics with the last few that stayed....

big dave

Nah, that's ok. So long as you two are ok that's the main thing( as cliche as I know it sounds). I am sure the insurance won't say anything about street racing or anything, kinda hard to do that goin round a corner anyways, right?

ouch that's got hurt. glad to hear you both are ok. must have been a loud "bang", i know what it feels like. i remember in my civic i was going around an off camber left turn when the back end decided to come out. i countered and it snap back and i when straight over the curb and towards a small utility building stopping 50ft or so in the grass. oh and the speed limit was posted at 25 and i think i was going 50 or so. damage, two bent rims, alignment way out, and nerves shaking as i headed towards the building.

dave, aleast you didn't him. i saw an attendent step out into the middle of the track telling them to pit, but the driver hit the attendent head on and she went ass over head. there was a second of silence then a big wailing sound came out of her.

i'm beginning to feel left out, dam these the wrx's .

les

ps: do i smell my clutch burning, <sniffing> i think i do.

Wow, my sister made it into one of your movies! Small world I guess.

She was the crazy blonde in the teal car on the road course. I was down for the weekend, and just so happened to end up at a meet by accident.

Mike,

They are definately slower. It was a really nice time though. I have been checking on spots in Williamsburg for a combined meet. No Subaru dealerships close. They do have an outdoor go kart track, but it closes sometime this month for the season.

Right now, I am thinking the meet spot will probably be the outlet mall. I may enlist some help and scope out the area sometime this weekend for likely meeting spots. Will let you know the outcome.

IMPREZive 02 WRX,

Really small world. If that was your sister, I think I own3d her on the track that day as I did pass a blonde in Nigel Mansell fashion.

Stiletto,

Sorry about your ride. If it was anyone else, I wouldn't feel half as bad. Knowing how you are about your ride makes it 10X worse. Hope it gets fixed soon. (Insert crack about your car keeping Dee's company at the RK body shop here)

scoobygtr,

It's a good thing you aren't in the WRC as bad as I own3d you at the track! After the car got f'd, I thought they didn't stand a chance, but Subaru came through. They have a TON of ground to make up as they are still #3 though. I will PM you later about the car show.
