5D Classic's for me. They're pretty reasonable for getting into full frame. A little old, but I love how the shots look compared to a crop body.

I just purchased a couple yards of Alcantara to have some cosmetic changes to the interior... Time to get rid of some of those rattles with some nicely wrapped panels!!

bahahahahaha!!!!

Great minds think alike, you know....

I got it from JPM Coachworks, that way it will definitely match the boots and console I have from them already. Yeah at $99/yard it's a little nuts but I've looked at so many other option and it keeps making more sense to buy the best and it will pay off in the long run!
I'm looking to start with the cluster cover in black and the a-pillars in steel grey. The overall plan is to get comfortable enough with the pliability of the material to wrap the dash and top of the front doors in black. The lower dash, center console and other accents steel grey.
Then... with enough balls I'll do the entire headliner

haha that they do! I'm not even kidding also...a week ago I was staring at my interior and staring a pictures of the Rallysport direct STI with the JPM wrapped dash and came up with the idea to just buy the material and wrap it myself. And then I come on here and read your doing it also. What a coincidence lol

Ah okay I'll definitely hit them up when I order the shift boot and e-brake boot from them. I was thinking to wrap the center console with it, get the jdm or forester navi dash trim and wrap that with it also along with the A pillars. But looks like that'll be more than a yard and at $99 a yard...yikes. Might just cut it down to center console and radio trim

Hey Cliff, is the JDM dash trim just used when you are changing to an aftermarket double din radio? It looks nice!

I know, I know.... I've been a huge audiophile my whole life and this is the first car I have ever owned without a full system, it weird.
I think it's because I had a 140 mile commute everyday for 8 years so my car was my living room. Now I drive 7 miles total and by the time I find a song on my iPhone to play I'm already at work, haha.

Some day and yeah, it's on the list

For the headliner I'd love to go all black without plasti-dipping the plastic parts. I've found most of all the pieces to convert to black like the dome light, visor clips, sunroof handle, o-***** handles, and the air bag screw covers but the only thing I haven't found yet is the small felt piece that trims the headliner to the sunroof. I can always fabric dye it but I would love to have the OEM black one. I'll keep looking but when I do, it's light grey to black conversion time!!

Id love to see what the Pillars wrapped in alcantara would look like in ours cars. Then a matching black headliner.

Good things to come!!!
I'll get a good feel for the flexibility of the material when I start wrapping some of the smaller pieces next weekend. If I think I can stretch it around some deep curves without stitching I'll wrap everything. If it's too tight I'll do what I can and then I will have to save forever to have the rest stitched and installed by JPM.

I'm also working on a replica of the ATI center dash pod. Since they are taking forever, I've decided to take matters into my own hands!

Today I had to do a little spring cleaning to the front suspension.
The reason for this is because I had to put in a thrush washer on top of the springs to stop a "ping" sound that started about a month ago when I turn the wheel. The reason for the "ping" is because the springs are getting caught up on the top spring perch. Since the car is corner balanced, there is more weight on the front right spring then the others. Being said, the spring is tighter to offset the heavier weight and it's tension makes the rotation harder then the other three springs.
The simple fix was to place a thrust washer in between the top of the spring and the spring perch. I called Stance to explain the problem and the first question was if the car was corner balanced. They overnighted a pair of washers for the front and today was a perfect day to throw them in.

Since I had to take the coilovers apart, I went ahead and cleaned, greased and polished what I could, put the washers in and put them back in the car.

I was overall excited with the condition of the front coilovers... Being on the coast of Maine, the salt in the air and all over the streets take a beating on equipment. I'm a big fan of drenching the suspension in WD-40 and I think it did a great job.

Here are some of the pictures!

I put covers on mine before last winter:

I just took them off today and the coilovers still look just as good as when I put them on. I'm pretty sure NOTHING got onto them. I've pleasantly surprised.

Since I was in the cleaning mood yesterday with my coilovers I decided to go out and purchase all new cleaning supplies. Yeah coughing up $100 for it sucks but even with this years light winter, the salt and grime gave my paint a beating. White loves to show all the surface rust and road contaminates.
It's amazing how a brand new cars paint surface can feel like sandpaper in just a couple months!

Today's goal:

Wash
Clay
Polish
Wax
Quick Detail
